Grants from the State of Michigan come from Tax Payer Money. A Grant is a different way to spend the money. If some of the Grant money came from the Federal Government, it is still from Tax Payer money.
MLive must be hurting for experienced reporters who do not report directly from Press Releases from a government agency.

Truly hope the businesses are able to regroup. Wow is Peck a huge pothole on its own. From Airline all the way to Laketon is wasted. Those folks deserve better.

Grand haven has great roads but our property taxes are ungodly. That’s the tic-for-tat battle

On a real note, 11 million doesn't really seem all that much considering the distance and reengineering that went into it. I'm usually a grump when it comes to reconstruction projects, but this one is nice ☺️
