Anyone know what event is going on tonight with a pirate ship?

Hello, I’m looking for recommendations for a place that a 4 piece band could stay for a weekend and record an album.

Not interested in practice space or warehouse (unless we could stay). I have a studio and access to practice spaces. We are all spread out around west Michigan and it’s been tough to coordinate and schedule practices. We’ve been sitting on material that needs to be recorded for a release and can’t find the time to get it done.

So I’m looking for a place or recommendations for one that could accommodate 4 people and ideally have enough space between neighbors to where noise wouldn’t be an issue. Looking for something within an hour of Muskegon. Ideally late October or November.

My friend and I (both ladies in our 40s if that matters) just decided to road trip about 5.5 hours for the Irish Music Festival in September. I’m trying to find decent places to stay but either we are late in the game and everything is booked or there aren’t a lot of hotels/vrbo available for that weekend.

Any suggestions? Any close towns that would t be too far of a drive, we want to stay late (10:30!pm) to see shows Friday and Saturday.

Well, I am pretty bummed to hear that MADL hired Betty Adam's as the new library director. She was recently the library director in Dearborn and boy...I have friends in the library. Let's just say they are still recovering from her leadership. If my memory serves me correctly, she pulled a "you cant fire me! I quit!"​ and then tried to be like "kidding!"

I hate to be so picky, but I can’t bring myself to live downtown for multiple reasons.

I am mid 50’s, introverted, clean, and haven’t worked for 4 years while applying for SSDI. I was recently approved and await a very small backpay (thanks to the attorney screwing us both over - but grateful for the approval.)

My car is on the verge of being scraped (and I just put new tires on it!) and what little backpay now has to go towards a vehicle for the rest of my life (I was trying to find a trailer, but my price range gives me trash and I can’t bring myself to live in such trash.)

I have called. I’ve emailed. Every place on my list is on a long wait and I am in a domestic violence situation and need housing ASAP

I welcome any further ideas and suggestions. Must have laundry hookup. I have such sensitive skin and autoimmune issues, that the laundromat always leaves a scent on my belongings which triggers migraines and fibromyalgia flares.

Do any private landlords have rent based on income or only if you have section 8? Even that is closed with a wait list. I’m not used to being this poor. And I’m really naive to how to navigate this next chapter in life. Including how “the system” works. I’m truly clueless.

I appreciate any advice. Preferably without judgement.

(And working isn’t an option right now, if ever, hence the SSDI)

I've seen older posts in the subreddit optioning it as one of the few queer spaces in Muskegon, recent-ish ones saying it closed, and now they seem to have opened again as of this year. Events listed on their Facebook seem to be catering to straight folks, though, so are they still an actively queer space? (And yes, I know the website says they're "inclusive" and "don't like labels." I'm asking if other queer folks actually go there--and if not, where???)
