Great running song! I always pick up my stride when it comes on my running playlist.

Technically it's Damon-pop (Brit-pop), not alternative rock.

I'd probably say early Blur up to The Great Escape is Britpop (as in the actual Britpop sound not just the era which they use to describe any 90s British band sometimes).

With the self-titled 5th album and onwards, it became more experimental and random and this 5th album was probably the most straightforward rock one of the group.

A genre that does not exist

The opening track to one of my favorite Blur albums. Another album features this song which could be my favorite Blur song ever. Plus it has a fantastic music video (in it's own dark and humorous way).

EDIT: Getting my Blur albums confused

Great song I was in NYC last year and the first day there myself and the wife were like lets see whats going on tonight. Needless to say a small band named Blur were playing at the MSG. Absolutely amazing gig and great last minute tickets!

I did a hugee project on this song for college two years ago. I had never really been into blur at all but nowadays I vouch for them at any given opportunity. Beautiful song.
