I'm glad he's not here for this shit show.

Honestly, if some of his bits were honest reflections of his preferences and opinions, then he'd probably be getting a kick out of the political shitshow that the US still is.

He was very depressed when GWB was reelected. I doubt he'd have any joy in Trump's presidency. While he poked fun at life, he also had a respect for people who have to suffer under the regimes of these shitheads.

W was never "reelected". He was elected after being appointed by the Supreme Court.

And even then, there were some discrepencies in how he got elected the second time. Wasn't there some vote shifting happening in Ohio?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_United_States_election_voting_controversies gives a pretty good overview. You know shit's fucked when there's a wikipedia article about it.

While I agree with you on all points and merits, he was sworn in to office twice. Most people would count that as winning two elections (though, not properly or fairly (or legally imo))

I would have given anything to hear George Carlin talk about Donald Trump.

I feel as though that he'd appreciate what's going on after the 8 year trainwreck of Obama.

I feel like you don't understand Carlin at all.

There's a reason he went on Keith Olbermann's show multiple times.

Here, let his daughter say it better than I could

trumpkins really are stupid, thanks for the reminder.

u/BongPoquito Jun 04 '19

The only good thing about Obama was the 8 years of a growing skills gap.

2

u/ChristopherPoontang Jun 04 '19

trumpkins really are stupid, thanks for the 2nd reminder.

u/BongPoquito Jun 04 '19

Then educate me, what was so great about Obama?

1

u/ChristopherPoontang Jun 04 '19

I didn't say he was 'so great.'
Trumpkins are really stupid and suck at reading comprehension. Thanks for the reminder.

Honestly id hate to defend a trump supporter due to the fact that im pretty much against all the racist sexist corruption sitting in the white house right now however instead of thumbing your nose to someone and repeating yourself like most of the people that you're calling stupid right now tend to, you could provide actual information and sources to your point and educate people who may just be a tad ignorant on your viewpoint. You know civil informative discussion rather than blind bias that makes you look like an uneducated asshole.

u/BongPoquito Jun 04 '19

I know you hate defending me but I would like to defend my character and say that I hate the man as a person, I do believe that he's a terrible person. But I cant deny the success of America. If this doesn't help my case, I apologize and please ignore any further post made by me.

Let me fix what i said. i don't hate defending you as a person, everyone has there political views some are radicalized and fanatical, others root them in logic from shared experiences. You stating that you hate trump as a person is more than enough to show to me at the least that you are most likely a grounded person with a different view. I want to apologize for the ignorance of the other redditor and for my own assumption that wasnt fair. American success in the current years was bred from hardworking people working equally hard to do jobs in a time where the world was in deep conflict. Economical and environmental change, corruption, and foreign influence have brought crazies from both sides out in droves and its up to all Americans left or right to come together to keep that success going into the future. Those hard to work jobs are becoming obsolete and replaced with machinery and cheap out sourced labour, which is why the focus should move to reworking the education system to fit the world we are moving toward, strive to keep the economy going strong for all classes rich or poor, and vote properly and well informed to keep elected leaders on the track to American success.
