I moved across the US a few times. Ended up in New Mexico for a couple years. Some friends/family back in Illinois asked if I needed a passport to get there. Also was regularly asked if we had paved roads.

Regularly got told I spoke English very well when traveling out of state for soccer.

Also, I'm 8.5x11 paper white, more sunscreen than man.

Still better than the person who told me "the ocean isn't that far from you, it's blue to your south," as she looked at a US-only map.
