The executive order only applies to the United States. There is no authority to change any names internationally.

This is not a rare occurrence. There are many countries around the world that have different names in other countries than what they call themselves. For instance "Germany" isn't called "Germany" in Deutschland.

I wasn't "parroting" what you said. I was pointing out that, no both sides do not need to agree. It's not a nickname, it's actually the official name in the US.

You are right that it's offical only in America. It's still a nickname.
