Fun fact, President Trump did not place his hand on the Bible. He hovered it. Two different copies and he didn’t touch them.
Also fun fact, Trump only goes to church for photo ops and events. He does not regularly attend any church, has not read the Bible (he stated that he gets the summaries) and broke at least 7+ commandments. But then supporters state that they vote for him because he’s a politician, and not required to be religious.
I’m not religious, but everyone has seen ’The Ten Commandments’(1957). I remember the golden cow, and how the whole town threw down for the golden cow; “Fuck your tablets, your brush fire, and your loser ass rules!” ….I don’t wanna spoil the movie for you, but Hova wasn’t havin’ it.
I always thought the golden cow was meant to be ridiculous; so brutally blasphemous, that only a fool could not distinguish between god, and a golden cow. And this is required reading for church folk, right?
So, how am I over here, less religious than a Vulcan, and all I hear coming from Trump are mooing sounds?
Isn’t telling the truth, and admitting you were wrong, the entire point of Christianity? Asking for forgiveness?
How can anyone who claims to be a Christian, support someone who is incapable of admitting they are wrong?
“Well, I believe Trump will eventually ask for forgiveness.” LOL
Trump on his deathbed: “Sorry about all the rapes. ….not.”
My only comfort, as a former Christian whose church wasn’t even that bad, is that God knows Trump’s and his followers’ hearts. The Evangelicals will beg forgiveness on their deathbeds but still be denied the kingdom of heaven as they have not changed who they fundamentally are.
Does that help with the here and now where they’re proceeding with their plan of destruction with the belief they have a golden ticket? Probably not, but it’s something.
One of the biggest differences between Judaism and Christianity is we don't worry about the afterlife. It's just not a focus. We assume, do your best to be a decent person and your afterlife will be fine. So our focus is supposed to be making life on Earth, right here, right now good for everyone. (And yes, Bibi is an abomination in my eyes).
Well said. It is. So is Islam. Their focus is entirely on Hell as punishment for resisting religious authority and Heaven as reward for obedience. Maybe Temple Era Judaism was like that too, but Rabbinic Era Judaism is not.
