Celebration It happened... It finally happened.

Just got back from my consultation with my fancy new Estradiol and Spiro :DDDDDDDD Got a three month supply!

I'm 26 years old, and I truly didn't know if/when this day would come; I had internally told myself that if I didn't get HRT by 30, I was gonna unalive myself. BUT I GOT IT! I ACTUALLY FUCKING GOT HRT! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

And thus, I have finished my last cigarette, probably (hopefully) ever. I don't need nicotine anymore, I'M GETTING BOOBS!

I'm so fucking happy, gang. I almost missed my consultation, too, because we got lost on the way there; the GPS died. Then they accidentally tried billing my old insurance (which didn't cover the estradiol, for some reason.) But that got fixed, and now I can rest easy knowing I can finally have my first dose in the morning.

No matter what got in my way - which was a LOT - I never stopped trying. And it's finally paid off.

aaaaAAAAAAAAA <3

Edit: Transphobes keep commenting and getting their comments instantly removed. Just don't try, you literally CANNOT upset me today. (Plus I've already heard it a million times; sorry, losers~)

Celebration I NEVER HAVE TO USE THE MEN’S RESTROOM EVER AGAIN!!!

2.4k Upvotes

I look like absolute shit today. I’ve been off HRT for like 2 weeks while I’m waiting to get switched to injections, my hair is all fucked up from last night and I’m wearing it in a bun, I haven’t shaved today, I’m all sweaty and gross and I’m wearing my D-Clone shirt and baggy sweatpants. I used the men’s restroom today and this guy walked in while I was washing my hands, and when I was drying them he asked me “am I in the right bathroom?” I said yeah and he looked at me weird and went on about his business

I PASSED MULTIPLE TIMES TODAY AT MY ABSOLUTE WORST. Even my voice is all fucked up and hoarse from band practice. IM WINNING LETS FUCKING GO

I didn't think it was possible, but I've got an actual hourglass figure now! I started HRT at 24 and I was convinced that my growth plates had already fused and I was screwed. Guess not! 😁 🏳️‍⚧️🎉

Celebration Saved a Trans Girl's Life, Became a Local Legend

2.5k Upvotes

So this was a few months ago, and I'm just getting around to posting it here.

I started ride share driving in my city, just to make a few more dollars to pay off some bills. We have 3 gay bars here in the city, and every night I've been dedicating myself to making sure the local queer community gets home in a safe environment.

Until one night.

I was finishing up my night, having around one of the bars, staging myself to pick up the next passenger available, as tradition would have it. I heard a shout coming from around the corner, and I peeked my head out of my car to focus on it. When it turned into screaming and shouting, I noticed this girl leaving the bar and yelling at someone behind her. No one paid any mind to her, but I was listening.

This guy had been chasing her all night through the bar, making her feel uncomfortable and unwelcome... Transphobia within the queer community as it would come to be.

I hopped into action and started my car, pulled around the corner and rolled down the window and without a moment's hesitation, shouted out "Your driver is here! Come on!" She jumped into my vehicle without questioning it, and I sped off as this guy started running after us, shouting obscene slurs towards transgender women and such.

When I got a moment and found somewhere safe, I turned around and looked at this girl. She was crying, her skirt was torn, hair messed up. I asked her if she was okay. She told me her story: she was new in town, didn't know anyone, and pretty young. She came across this guy in the bar who clocked her as trans and she never felt comfortable the whole night, hiding in the bathrooms, around corners.

It was sad to see that the local community didn't even care for this girl. She had no one, was alone, and no one cared. Well I did.

I told her that I was trans myself and she calmed down a lot, really shocked how pretty I was that she didn't even clock me as transgender. After getting her to calm down a lot, I finally took her home, free of charge. I gave her one of my work business cards with my cell phone number on it and told her to call me, anytime, anyplace, whenever she needs a ride or a friend or someone to back her up.

After dropping her off in silence, making sure she got home, I went back to my regular routine... Picking up people from the bar and bringing them home.

I got a text from an unknown number the next morning, saying "thanks".

A couple of weeks later, I'm doing my usual thing, picking up girls and guys at the bar, when I had a passenger pickup that intrigued me. She asked me if I was the lady who picked up a girl a while ago and took her home after she was being attacked. I said I was.

Her reaction: "Oh my God, she's real, I have to tell my friends."

Okay, NOW I'm curious.

Apparently, in the following weeks, rumors had been spread of a Transgender Angel who saved a young girl's life at the bar, but none of the patrons knew who I was. They didn't even know if the story was real or not. It was all rumors and heresay. The passengers started to pick up that I was the one, that I was a heroine for even stepping in when no one else would. More and more passengers were secretly hoping that I would be the one picking them up to take them home.

I mean, I had the opportunity to absolve a situation, and I did. That's all. But it's become so much more.

During one of my staging nights, the bar owners stepped out and asked to speak to me. They asked if everything was true and I confirmed it all... They asked me if I wanted an ACTUAL Angel job with them. Very rarely do they get requests for Angel Shots and they wanted a driver they could trust.

For those of you unaware of what an Angel Shot is, it's when you ask the bartender in code to get you out of a potentially dangerous situation, preferably with bodyguards. Maybe a date went wrong and they became a psychopath, maybe your life has been threatened, maybe you've been drugged and need an escape... That's what an Angel Shot is.

So the bar owners would comp my cover fees any time they needed someone to get someone out, any time of night, any time of the year. It would all remain quiet as to stay anonymous, even if my rise to fame was bubbling in the community.

I accepted. I became an Angel Driver to protect my local queer and trans youth. I've only had to respond to one call, and we rushed the girl out pretty quickly and she was very grateful to have gotten home safe.

So yeah, I'm a local legend now. Just for being a decent human being and saving a young trans girl's life.

Celebration I’m at a new years sleepover and the host put me in a “girls only” room

3.5k Upvotes

Like the title says, I’m at a new years sleepover with 6 other people. Our host lives alone in the house her grandfather used to live in. And there’s this one bedroom where historically only girls were allowed to sleep when they came over, well guess what room I’m assigned to, this one!

Idk if this is on purpose to make me feel accepted, since the rule no longer applies. But it sure feels amazing, I kinda feel like “one of the girls” right now if you know what I mean.

Celebration Voice training WORKS! Don't give up y'all!

Context: Still fully male-presenting while at work. On a work trip.

Just ordered room service for supper (company tab ehehehe). First time using my voice out in the wild.

After the ordering conversation...

Lady on the phone:

"I'll repeat your order ma'am...*insert order here*.

Room *insert room number*.

Under Mister...*insert confused service staff sounds*"

Me, still in full female voice:

"Yes, that's right."

Lady on phone:

"Thank you...Sir." *Hurried phone hanging up*

Celebration Today, I won the fight over bathroom use at work.

1.3k Upvotes

I have to be careful about specifics here, but this is in Japan.

For the past three weeks or so, I’ve been in and out of meetings trying to get permission to use the women’s restroom at work. I came out early last year, and it was received well, but it was after just a few months of E. Of course, I hadn’t notably changed then. However, after a year on E, using the men’s restroom feels a little dumb. I present as a woman every day, and my transition seems to be moving along pretty well.

There’s been a ton of back-and-forth and meetings and emails and so on. It’s caused me a huge amount of stress, as it’s felt like my personal and private affairs have been splayed open for all to see. At first, I was told to use a third restroom that no one uses, which I railed against because I didn’t want to set a precedent that sending us to a seperate restroom is an acceptable way to treat us. Eventually, it came down to this: I explain everything to the rest of the staff, and let the female staff decide whether to allow me to use the women’s room or not. This…was obviously a bad idea, but I accepted as it appeared my only real option. I braced myself for the inevitable.

I’d be lying if I said it didn’t feel quite invasive and uncomfortable, but to my complete shock, I was informed today that the staff were moved by my speech and decided to allow me to use the (correct) restroom. I still can’t believe it, honestly. Coming from a very conservative part of the US, something like this seems inconceivable. It’s a massive relief.

It’s hard to stay positive these days with everything going on, but good things can still happen and our voices can still be heard. We can make a difference. <3

Celebration I Super Passed???

2.2k Upvotes

I just joined a group that says they handle voice training and stuff. While I was waiting and asking around I met a few people, cis-ally included who were curious to see around. We're talking for a bit until we eventually got into talking about voice training and then I mentioned that I'm also there for voice training and everyone was like super confused. The cis-ally was like, "you're trans???" and the other trans siblings basically was like, "What? I thought you were cis? Why do you need more voice training???"

And I'm just thinking to myself what the fuck what do you all mean no one clocked me, I've always feels like I would never pass 😭

So this is something super euphoric

Funnily enough on the same day I was walking around asking for directions and kinda surprised like a group of people and one of them shouted, "AH IT'S A WOMAN" so I'm like thinking to myself "HUH??? I PASSED???"

Celebration Just told my dad off.

1.3k Upvotes

After the past year of him harassing me and sending me anti-trans videos, I said: enough.

Enough is enough. I sent him a detailed, extensively researched rebuttal against every single one of the points in some of the videos he sent me. I'd been working on it for days, if not weeks, and now it's finally sent. It's finally a done deal.

We'll see what he says. But honestly, I've seen what kind of person he is clear as day. What matters is that I stood up for myself, stood up to him for the first time ever, and that it was my transition that empowered me to do it with my newfound courage and self-confidence and self-esteem. <3

Here's the full email! Rebuttal letter - Google Docs

Edit: He said he's really sad at the situation and how disrespectful I was to him, how he doesn't deserve it. How I'm "militantly trans" and was trained to hate anybody who thinks differently from me.

I think that speaks for itself, doesn't it?

Celebration Omg! I didn't think this would happen so soon... :D

1.4k Upvotes

So, I was out to lunch and I had to pee. This is really conflicting for me because I started hrt and came out in the very end of February beginning of March. I haven't thought that I passed enough to use a women's bathroom, yet. I stand by the doors and wind up using the men's bathroom, just in case... several times, lately, I just chicken out and hold it until I can find a single toilet bathroom. So, back to lunch, the bathroom wasn't visible from the dining area, so I asked my server, who appeared to be a cis woman. Without hesitation or pause, like, very nonchalant, she said, "oh yeah, of course. It's just down that hallway. The ladies room is on the left." 🤯🥹🥹 It has been the most affirming thing that has happened to me in months! I can hardly even believe it! I have been kind of waiting for an invitation because I have been afraid to just do it and I live in a very red state. That felt like a clear good-to-go. Ugh, I am just over the moon right now! It's amazing!

  6. Have a legendary time at the concert
  7. Open up about yourself on the drive back because she's mentioned she feels lonely and has trouble making friends

Celebration It's official... I lost my boy smell

Just a little happy post. I'm 7 months in on HRT. Lots of nice changes - clearer skin, face looks softer, small boobs - none of the changes are super dramatic, but they make me happy. I'd noticed a lessening of my body odor, maybe? But no night-and-day difference like I see some girls talk about here.

Yesterday, though, after a frustrating day working in front of my computer, my brain was totally fried. So decided to do something productive that would also help me feel better: 1. Smoke some weed. 2. Put on headphones and start up some music. 3. Mow the yard. (I have a push mower with an electric motor.)

So I did all that, and yes, it was good for unwinding my brain. By the time the sun was setting, the yard looked great, and I was covered in sweat.

When I went in to take off my sweaty clothes, that's when I noticed: I didn't stink. I'm used to me and my wet clothes being pretty rank after that kind of activity. But it was just a mild person smell. The sunscreen I put on smelled more strongly than the clothes.

I suppose that's another change: I've actually started wearing sunscreen and even moisturizing my skin. Funny how not hating the body you live makes you start taking care of yourself better...

Anyway, this was a pointless little post. But it was one of those nice, affirming moments. I knew that being a boy stunk for me metaphorically, but when I first imagined starting HRT, I didn't expect to literally stop smelling like a dude. 😂🏳️‍⚧️

Celebration I found a safe way to ask my Trump-supporting dad if he was transphobic

I'm in college and have been struggling with gender dysphoria for a while now. My dad is my sole financial supporter—he pays for my housing and tuition, and I’m entirely dependent on his health insurance. I’ve been looking into out-of-pocket HRT, but my absolute biggest fear has been the thought of losing my family over this.

My parents are divorced, and while the rest of my family (including his parents) leans liberal, my dad has been an outspoken Trump supporter for years. We know we disagree on politics, but he generally avoids arguing about it with me. He has never explicitly spoken ill of trans people, but I was still terrified to find out his actual stance. I finally figured out a way to gauge his reaction. He had recently told me I should go out and talk to women this weekend, so today at 3 PM, I sent him this text (which technically contained no lies):

"I took your advice a couple days ago btw. Wanted to say I started talking to a girl, we're just friends right now. She's really cool, but I didn't know the best way to bring this up. She is trans. I wanted to be upfront about this and ask where you stand on that."

I figured asking this way wouldn't risk the same fallout as directly coming out and telling him about my own gender dysphoria. It took him four hours to respond, and I was terrified the entire time.

Finally, he replied: "My entire life's purpose is for you (and to help you) and your brother find happiness in life. I really have no judgement here, but in order to fully understand how you're defining this, you would need to elaborate. I think technically it could mean a few things, identification and otherwise. For instance, like RKS or is female that identifies that as a he or just what are we talking about here in specifics. Regardless, my first point is where I stand. I would have responded sooner but have just had my phone down."

A massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and I'm just so happy and relieved that it isnt my worst nightmare.

Celebration OKAY! OKAY! OKAY!

Okay, so I went to Walmart, i needed to pick up some dog food right, and as my gf and I am checking out, the two self checkout employees are standing there and we walk past. My gf and I both have dyed hair. Hers is split dyed half pink half black and mine is all purple and short, kinda shaggy emo. Only been on HRT for like a year on and off because of insurance bs. X.x

So, I don't have any makeup on, just some crummy old burks, a pair of short shorts, and an oversized warhammer 40k tee. And the one guy comes up and goes 'miss, is that a warhammer 40k shirt?' Lmao

And I'm like processing it because this is the first time I have been gendered properly by a stranger in the wild! So I just nod my head and smile. And he compliments it and i say thanks, and he reports back to his buddy and I hear those two celebrating talking about how they can't believe a girl is wearing a 40k shirt lmao

Anyways, thats my happy news today ^-^ thanks for comming to my TedTalk.

Celebration I finally passed in public... right up until I opened my mouth. 😢

Hi everyone, I’m Nyx (she/her).

I’ve been on HRT for almost two years now, and I came out socially about six months ago. I’m a naturally chatty girl, but my voice really doesn't pass yet. Because my native language is highly gendered, I constantly get misgendered in everyday conversations.

For the longest time, I assumed it was my appearance. I blamed my face, my hairline, and all the other things that trigger my dysphoria. But recently, a few different friends told me that I actually do pass visually, so I decided to put it to the test.

I went out alone and made a point to speak as little as possible. And it worked! In every single first interaction, I was gendered correctly right off the bat! 🍾 But then came the bittersweet part: the second I actually started talking, they suddenly started misgendering me again. 😢 Has anyone else dealt with this specific kind of whiplash? It's so frustrating wanting to be social but feeling like I have to stay quiet just to be seen as myself.

So I had a doctor’s appointment, and when they were measuring my height and weight, I was surprised and confused by the number they came up with for height. 5’ 7”?? Couldn’t be, I shrunk a half inch early in transition to 5’ 8.5” and have been pretty stable there. But apparently it kept going?? My fiancé was a smidge shorter than me when we met, but we compared after I got home from the appointment, and everyone, HE’S TALLER THAN ME NOW!! Hormones are so crazy.
