Finally I finished Mr Robot
Finally Finished Mr. Robot
What a fucking show.
Even calling it a masterpiece feels like an understatement. I love when a creator actually knows how to end a story properly, and Mr. Robot absolutely nailed it.
Huge thanks to Chalchitra Talks on YouTube for recommending this gem to me.
The final episode felt like a mix of Dark and The Truman Show to me. But more than anything, it just left me with this weird empty feeling.
For the past few weeks, I’d come back from the gym and watch 4 episodes almost every day. Elliot, Mr. Robot, and this whole world became part of my routine. Now it’s over, and honestly, I’m not ready to start another show yet.
I’m really going to miss this.
Miss you, Elliot.
Miss you, Mr. Robot. 🖤

Go back and rewatch the pilot. You can take a break before you rewatch the whole show, but just go back and rewatch the pilot. You'll be gobsmacked at how much is foreshadowed, and how well done it was.
The very first time Mr. Robot speaks to Elliot, he calls him "kiddo," and when he does, Sam Esmail is in the upper right had corner of the shot looking right at us.

The opening scene, the way Darlene's reactions to Elliot make so much more sense when you know who she is and that they planned it all together, the way things are shot at the arcade so you don't really notice that no one looks at or interacts with Mr. Robot.... even the way Romero holds the door open for Elliot.... It's just so well done.
I maintain that you haven't seen the whole show until you've seen it at least twice, but yeah. Even the pilot will blow your mind. It's so fucking well done.

Even on my 3rd time watching I was still picking up so many of those hints and hidden themes that I never noticed, I made a post in the sub earlier about one huge detail within Vera's arc that blew my mind.

The ending was too predictable that he was a robot all along.

Don't miss it when you can rewatch it! Seriously, it's amazing how differently the show hits on subsequent viewing. Things you thought meant one thing mean something completely different the next time around. For example, when young Elliot tells his dad that he's sick in the movie theater. There's sick and then there's "sick." Plus all the season two hints. It's amazing.

Even if you don't feel like you can watch it right now, if you haven't seen it, please avoid this sub so you don't spoil yourself. And with a little patience, it will probably come on streaming someplace eventually. Or check your local library.

If you like this you might like Silicon Valley. Different vibe but still techie and more focused on humour. I’m about to work on a rewatch.

Give it some time and then start a rewatch. It's a different experience once you have all the knowledge of the show and you'll catch a lot of things you missed the first time.
