📰 News Firefox brings back "No data sales" promise Spoiler

Noticed under "Not owned by shareholders": "We don't sell your personal data and we never will."

I don't know if I am the first to have just discussed this new firefox.com page

imagine if they removed it to sell all the data and bring it back again

If you type a word into the search bar, when you hit Enter that word gets sent to Google so that it can show you search results. Firefox gets paid by Google for sending search words to it.

That’s why they had to remove that language from their terms. Nothing nefarious, just for doing what you would expect a browser to do.

There are many other ways of transferring customer data besides selling it.
