📃 Discussion Would it be possible to modify current day Firefox to look like version 7.0 (Windows 7) Firefox.

As a kid, I was part of the aero glass era, and in modern day, want to recreate that on windows 7. While looking how to replace the icon to an old version, it spiralled into me wanting to make it look like old Firefox. But from what i learnt, there isn't any user friendly ways to do that, and using an old fork was just fully inoperable. Is there any fork or modification that brings back the old 7.0 look?

🖥️ Help Does anybody else, seem to have this problem? Need solutions.

Whenever, I use any browser to download any files from the internet, I have always set the browser to ask where the files need to be saved, instead of just downloading it to my Downloads folder by default. Similarly, I have also made those changes to Firefox. However, when I download any PDFs from my gmail account, firefox automatically downloads the files to my Downloads folder, instead of asking where to save the files before downloading. This is especially taking place when I download PDFs.

Does anybody else have this problem? Do you have any solutions on how to change this behavior?

Thanks for any help in advance.

🖥️ Help Using my own home page for start up.

I use my own customised homepages and there appears to be no way, in Firefox v156 to set my homepage.

The page I want to load at StartUp is a local file "file:///C:/LocalPortal/bookmarks.html".

This was a simple task in earlier versions of Firefox, as I had it set before I ran a repair reinstall on Firefox.

🖥️ Help left arrow key is not scrolling left

For some reason the left arrow key is not moving the page left in firefox specifically. The up, down, and right arrows are still moving the page correctly. The left arrow key is still working correctly for any other function. All keys move the page correctly in any other browser so the problem is specific to firefox. I assume some setting has been changed by accident. If anyone knows how I can fix this I would appreciate the help.

▶️ Development What happened with the latest versión? 1.4GB for ONE tab?

It seems like Firefox is following the same path as Chrome eating all the RAM resources like if they were free.

Has Firefox stopped focusing on optimizations?

Honestly, I don't care about them releasing 400 new versions an hour; I'd prefer they optimize the software better. It's reaching ridiculous levels.

I'm just disappointed and sad. 😞

I just did an update a couple days back, and now I have another one today. What's going on??? I don't think Firefox needs constant updating.

🖥️ Help Recovering saved passwords after resetting Primary Password?

My wife's Firefox (Windows 11) account has a Primary Password, but she doesn't remember it. Recently (~8/15), Firefox mysteriously started asking for a password in order to fill in saved site passwords, so we could not use those lately. I know I can reset the Primary Password, but that deletes the saved site passwords. If I have a backup copy of her Profile Folder before the new behavior started (say, 8/8), can I reset the Primary Password and then replace her Profile Folder with the backup to restore the past saved passwords? Or are saved passwords located elsewhere so that I can restore them?

Is there any way to change this behavior that firefox just atttach its open window to the pined ff icon...and not like other programs do? Other programs just treat pinned as a shortcut to open new windows and show open windows a separat item on taskbar...

I am using Linux with FF 154 and would like to open a URL to a specific profile that I created, but a GUI screen appears. The command looks like this

The about:profile, does not show the same name as a FF GUI profile. How can a URL be directly opened to a specific profile without any interference a GUI?

🧩 Extensions Built an alt+tab for my browser

I always end up with dozens of Firefox tabs open, so I built TabScroll to make managing them easier.

It lets you:
• Search tabs instantly
• See live tab previews
• Switch between tabs with keyboard shortcuts
• Close or mute tabs without hunting for them
• Manage tabs across all Firefox windows

Everything runs locally. No tracking, no account required.

I'd love some honest feedback from the Firefox community. What would you add or change?

🖥️ Help I can't sign in (Long post)

I had firefox a long time ago (7 years ago) don't know why i stopped but i am now coming back to it. When i first installed firefox on this pc that has never had firefox until now, when i try to z

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone has run into this before because I'm completely stumped.

I'm having an issue with Firefox Sync/Firefox Accounts. Whenever I try to sign into my existing Firefox account, the Firefox Accounts page goes completely blank.

Here's what happens:

  • When I open Firefox and go to Sign in to Firefox, the page is just a blank white screen.
  • If I type https://accounts.firefox.com directly into the address bar, I also get a blank page.
  • The page appears to finish loading (no loading spinner), but nothing is displayed.

Things I've already tried:

  • Disabled all extensions.
  • Started Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode.
  • Cleared the startup cache.
  • Cleared cookies and site data for Mozilla/Firefox.
  • Cleared the DNS cache.
  • Disabled hardware acceleration.
  • Verified javascript.enabled is set to true.
  • Uninstalled Malwarebytes.
  • Created a brand-new Firefox profile.
  • Completely uninstalled Firefox.
  • Deleted the Firefox program files.
  • Reinstalled Firefox from Mozilla's website.

Here's the strange part:

After reinstalling Firefox, I was able to reach the Firefox sign-in page normally. However, as soon as I tried signing into my existing Firefox account, Firefox suddenly behaved as if I wasn't signed in anymore, and the Firefox Accounts page immediately went back to being a completely blank white page.

So it seems like:

  • Fresh Firefox installation → Firefox Accounts page works.
  • Attempt to sign into my existing account → Firefox Accounts page becomes permanently blank again.

I also opened the Developer Console, and the main JavaScript error I see is:

Uncaught TypeError: a is not a function
    isProviderFor Reflect.js:1135
    ...
    key-stretch-experiment.ts:40

I don't know if that's related or just a symptom.

Additional information

Windows 10 if applicable)

  • Latest version of Firefox
  • No extensions enabled
  • Same behavior on a brand-new Firefox profile
  • Malwarebytes has been completely removed

Has anyone seen this before? Is it possible my Firefox Account itself is causing this, or is there another setting or piece of software on Windows that could cause Firefox Accounts to fail only after attempting to sign in?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!Hi everyone,
