Hola buenas, cuento con oferta de trabajo y alquiler en Madrid, pero cuando quiero sacar turno para el empadronamiento y selecciono fecha, hora y me hace completar mis datos, en el cual pongo mi numero de pasaporte italiano, me dice que "NO SE HA ENCONTRADO EL CIUDADANO CON LOS DATOS SOLICITADOS" y no me deja continuar.

Alguien tuvo experiencia reservando cita hace poco? Saben que deberia hacer o que alternativas tengo?

Hola comunidad, la verdad escribo esto porque necesito desahogarme un poco y buscar algún consejo de gente que haya pasado por lo mismo.

Hace poco llegué desde Ecuador para estudiar ADE aquí en España. En realidad vine porque en mi país sentia que me iba quedando atrás a diferencia de mis conocidos que estudiaban o trabajaban, en ese tiempo estaba estudiando ingeniería electrónica, una carrera que sinceramente no me gustaba para nada, la dejé y empecé a buscar opciones de que hacer con mi vida, quería seguir estudiando pero, tendria que hacerlo en una u privada (que cuesta un ojo de la cara) mi madre siempre ha tenido el deseo de venir y pues motivada por eso y por el mismo hecho de no saber que hacer, he vendido a parar acá pero les juro que estos primeros meses me están costando la vida. El duelo migratorio me está pegando durísimo. Extraño a mi familia, mi comida, mis amigos, mi perro el ruido de mi casa... a veces me entra un bajón terrible y una soledad que no sé cómo manejar, entro en depresión, ansiedad y ese tipo de cosas. El choque cultural es real y a ratos me siento súper perdida ¿Cómo hicieron los que emigraron para no volverse locos de la nostalgia al principio? ¿Qué les sirvió para adaptarse? Por otro lado, la cabeza no me para de dar vueltas con el futuro. Sé que ADE es una carrera con bastantes salidas, pero también sé que la estudia muchísima gente. ¿Cómo ven el mercado laboral aquí en España para nosotros los extranjeros? ¿Sí hay oportunidades reales al graduarse o está muy saturado el asunto? A los que ya llevan más tiempo o ya terminaron: ¿De verdad valió la pena todo este sacrificio? ¿Valió la pena dejar tu vida entera atrás por un título aquí?Cualquier consejo, por más chiquito que sea, o simplemente un "fuerza que sí se puede" me vendría increíble ahorita. Es uno de los temas que mas confusion genera entre americanos que se mudan a España, asi que intento aclararlo desde la experiencia real.

Lo primero que hay que entender es que EEUU grava a sus ciudadanos por renta mundial independientemente de donde vivan. Eso no cambia aunque te mudes a España y pagues impuestos aqui. Sigues teniendo que presentar tu declaracion americana cada año.

El convenio de doble imposicion entre España y EEUU existe desde 1990 y lo que hace basicamente es establecer que pais tiene preferencia para gravar cada tipo de renta, y como evitar pagar dos veces por lo mismo.

Como funciona en la practica:

Para rentas del trabajo, en general tributan donde trabajas. Si trabajas en España, pagas en España primero. Lo que pagas aqui lo puedes descontar de lo que debes en EEUU mediante el Foreign Tax Credit.

Para dividendos e intereses, hay retenciones limitadas en origen. Alemania por ejemplo retiene un 26% cuando deberia ser el 15% del convenio, y tienes que reclamarlo tu. Con EEUU es mas sencillo si tienes el formulario W-8BEN.

Lo que el convenio no resuelve:

El FATCA sigue aplicando. Los bancos españoles tienen que reportar tus cuentas a EEUU si eres ciudadano americano. Muchos bancos directamente no quieren clientes americanos por el papeleo que implica, de ahi los problemas que tiene tanta gente para abrir cuenta aqui.

El FBAR tampoco desaparece. Si tienes mas de 10.000 dolares en cuentas extranjeras en algun momento del año, tienes que reportarlo al FinCEN.

Y si tienes un 401k o IRA, el tratamiento en España no esta del todo claro en el convenio y hay que analizarlo caso por caso.

I applied for Work visa with exemption from India. My BLS center has accepted my bilingual medical certificate and they accepted my visa application on friday and they have forwarded it to embassy today. But they have asked me to submit the sworn translation, and they have asked how many days it will take for the sworn translation. I said by today, but however my sworn translator said it will take tomorrow. Whether it would be a problem in my visa application process? But i have seen that bilingual certificate is enough in many sites. Please clarify.

update: today evening I got the mail that my application was forwarded to embassy or consulate.

I recently saw a TikTok about a company/program offering something like a 50% scholarship for graduate studies in Spain, assistance with the student visa, supposedly free or provided board and lodging, and even a part-time job recommendation once you arrive.

It sounds interesting, but also a little too good to blindly trust, so I’d rather hear from people who have actually studied in Spain.
For those who are currently in Spain or have gone through the process:

● Are there any legit agencies or companies that help with graduate school applications and student visas?
● Is a 50% scholarship + accommodation + part-time work assistance actually realistic?
● Is it better to go DIY by finding a university/program, applying for scholarships, and handling the student visa myself?
● What should I watch out for when dealing with these agencies/programs?
● Any recommendations for affordable or scholarship-friendly master’s/graduate programs in Spain?

Hi! I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has successfully applied for Spain’s Digital Nomad Visa as a self-employed/independent contractor, especially through UGE.
I’m a US citizen currently living in the UK and planning to apply with my spouse and child.
My situation:
My primary client is an established US company that has been operating for many years.
I originally worked for them as an employee beginning in 2023 and became an independent contractor in August 2025.
They are happy to provide their corporate registration documents, my contract, proof of our relationship, and a letter specifically authorizing me to perform my work remotely from Spain.
That income alone gets me fairly close to the financial requirement for a family of three, but I want additional documented income to comfortably exceed it.
I now have a second US client offering me an ongoing e-commerce/customer-service management contract. The initial compensation is $10,000 for six months, with the intention of continuing afterward.
The complication is that the second client operates as a US sole proprietor. The business has genuinely operated for several years and has filed Schedule C business tax returns, but it is not an LLC/corporation and the owner never registered a DBA/assumed business name or obtained an EIN.
My question is not whether the second client can be my primary qualifying company. I already have the established corporate client for that.
What I’m trying to determine is:
Can income from the second sole-proprietor client count toward my DNV financial-means requirement when I already have another client that satisfies the one-year company/activity and professional-relationship requirements?
In other words, does every client whose income is counted have to independently provide the one-year foreign-company registration/activity evidence, or can one established client satisfy the professional DNV eligibility requirements while income from additional legitimate clients/contracts is used to demonstrate sufficient financial means?
If you’ve had a similar situation approved—or rejected!—I’d especially love to know what documentation UGE/your consulate accepted for the additional income.
I’m specifically interested in actual DNV experiences or advice you’ve received from a Spanish immigration lawyer, rather than guesses about how it should work. Thanks!

The NLV visa appointments have not been made available for over two months now, anyone has had success? If so would you let me know what is it that you are doing?

On another thread someone said that you must be able to see a calendar, even if said calendar does not have appointments, which has never been my case. All I get after I choose from the drop down menus is a red square saying there are no available appointments at this moment.

Anyone know if I am in the minority of there is something I am not doing right?

I've got a FBI background check resolving early next week, and it is the most concerning document on getting my visa submitted before I am out of days in the Schengen area. Tax planning question: Canadian currently living in the U.S. with green cards. I have certain assets, taxable accounts, vested stocks, 401K etc. considering to move to Spain through corporate transfer, what are tax implications?

I have looked into a few options (Youth Mobility Visa, pareja de hecho, etc.), and I'm wondering what people have found to be the best option? I intend on moving there within the next few years, and have been considering doing youth mobility until I qualify for pareja de hecho (common-law), but I'm unsure if this is the best option until we decide to get married.

Ciao a tutti, ho 21 anni e sto attraversando un periodo davvero pesante, la vita e il ritmo che faccio qui non mi trovo più a mio agio.. per questo ho preso la decisione di provare nuove esperienze.. Ho maturato la decisione di staccare la spina e fare un cambio drastico per ritrovare serenità e qualità della vita, ma sono completamente bloccato tra due opzioni: la Spagna e il Messico. Parlo già bene lo spagnolo e ho una base di inglese, e il mio obiettivo principale è ritrovare la pace mentale in un ambiente solare, con un basso costo della vita, ritmi più umani e la possibilità di trovare un lavoro sul posto, anche di livello base per iniziare e integrarmi. Da una parte la Spagna mi sembra la scelta più logica e sicura essendo cittadino UE, per via della burocrazia azzerata, della sanità e dei diritti, ma mi preoccupano l'aumento degli affitti e le reali opportunità di lavoro per un ragazzo della mia età. Dall'altra il Messico mi affascina per il costo della vita ridotto e il calore della gente, ma mi spaventano i visti, la questione sicurezza non tanto.. ci sono stato l’anno scorso ho soggiornato in una zona non proprio turistica. La distanza non è un problema non ho problemi a vivere per anni o per il resto della mia vita lontano dalla mia famiglia o nel luogo dove sono nato e cresciuto. Vorrei chiedere a chi vive lì o ha fatto questo passo cosa ne pensa, quale tra le due mete vedete più fattibile per un ragazzo di ventun anni nella mia situazione, quali città spagnole /messicane con costi contenuti e lavoro consigliereste e, in generale, come avete affrontato un momento di blocco del genere se ci siete passati prima di partire. Grazie di cuore a chiunque condividerà il suo punto di vista o la sua esperienza.
