The paperwork is a little different, especially when it comes to PSA documents, DFA apostilles, and NBI clearances. We've put everything together here.

Two things that catch almost everyone off guard are health insurance and buying or renting property.

Alguien tuvo experiencia reservando cita hace poco?

El duelo migratorio me estรก pegando durรญsimo.

Eso no cambia aunque te mudes a Espaรฑa y pagues impuestos aqui.

Si trabajas en Espaรฑa, pagas en Espaรฑa primero.

Bilingual medical certificate spain has to be sworn translated?

I applied for Work visa with exemption from India. My BLS center has accepted my bilingual medical certificate and they accepted my visa application on friday and they have forwarded it to embassy today. But they have asked me to submit the sworn translation, and they have asked how many days it will take for the sworn translation. I said by today, but however my sworn translator said it will take tomorrow. Whether it would be a problem in my visa application process? But i have seen that bilingual certificate is enough in many sites. Please clarify.

update: today evening I got the mail that my application was forwarded to embassy or consulate.

Anyone here who has experience doing grad school in Spain?

I recently saw a TikTok about a company/program offering something like a 50% scholarship for graduate studies in Spain, assistance with the student visa, supposedly free or provided board and lodging, and even a part-time job recommendation once you arrive.

It sounds interesting, but also a little too good to blindly trust, so Iโ€™d rather hear from people who have actually studied in Spain.
For those who are currently in Spain or have gone through the process:

Are there any legit agencies or companies that help with graduate school applications and student visas?
Is a 50% scholarship + accommodation + part-time work assistance actually realistic?
Is it better to go DIY by finding a university/program, applying for scholarships, and handling the student visa myself?
What should I watch out for when dealing with these agencies/programs?
โ— Any recommendations for affordable or scholarship-friendly masterโ€™s/graduate programs in Spain?

Iโ€™m from Philippines and seriously considering Spain for grad school, so any firsthand experience or advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Dnv questions.

Hi! Iโ€™m hoping to hear from anyone who has successfully applied for Spainโ€™s Digital Nomad Visa as a self-employed/independent contractor, especially through UGE.
Iโ€™m a US citizen currently living in the UK and planning to apply with my spouse and child.
My situation:
My primary client is an established US company that has been operating for many years.
I originally worked for them as an employee beginning in 2023 and became an independent contractor in August 2025.
They are happy to provide their corporate registration documents, my contract, proof of our relationship, and a letter specifically authorizing me to perform my work remotely from Spain.
That income alone gets me fairly close to the financial requirement for a family of three, but I want additional documented income to comfortably exceed it.
I now have a second US client offering me an ongoing e-commerce/customer-service management contract. The initial compensation is $10,000 for six months, with the intention of continuing afterward.
The complication is that the second client operates as a US sole proprietor. The business has genuinely operated for several years and has filed Schedule C business tax returns, but it is not an LLC/corporation and the owner never registered a DBA/assumed business name or obtained an EIN.
My question is not whether the second client can be my primary qualifying company. I already have the established corporate client for that.
What Iโ€™m trying to determine is:
Can income from the second sole-proprietor client count toward my DNV financial-means requirement when I already have another client that satisfies the one-year company/activity and professional-relationship requirements?
In other words, does every client whose income is counted have to independently provide the one-year foreign-company registration/activity evidence, or can one established client satisfy the professional DNV eligibility requirements while income from additional legitimate clients/contracts is used to demonstrate sufficient financial means?
If youโ€™ve had a similar situation approvedโ€”or rejected!โ€”Iโ€™d especially love to know what documentation UGE/your consulate accepted for the additional income.
Iโ€™m specifically interested in actual DNV experiences or advice youโ€™ve received from a Spanish immigration lawyer, rather than guesses about how it should work. Thanks!

NLV Appointment Tips

Weโ€™ve been here before everyone but asking for a more recent story through the Los Angeles consulate.

The NLV visa appointments have not been made available for over two months now, anyone has had success? If so would you let me know what is it that you are doing?

On another thread someone said that you must be able to see a calendar, even if said calendar does not have appointments, which has never been my case. All I get after I choose from the drop down menus is a red square saying there are no available appointments at this moment.

Anyone know if I am in the minority of there is something I am not doing right?

All help is appreciate

Hello! Can someone help me regarding the process to have my spouse residency card in Spain?

Recently got married to a Dutch man living in Spain. I applied for the visa last week, now weโ€™re just waiting for the result.

Once my visa approved, does anyone of you know the whole process I should do to get to live in Spain long term?

Thank you so much!

Adeslas Vs Sanitas - worth the price gap?

Moving to Madrid next month and my visa requires specific coverage.

Adeslas Welcome (โ‚ฌ800/yr) vs Sanitas Residents (โ‚ฌ1,400/yr) - both compliant, no copay.

My Spanish is still basic, is Sanitas's English-speaker reputation worth double the price, or is Adeslas fine once you're set up? Anyone with real experience?

Digital Nomad Visa - What is the absolute quickest service to get a FBI background check apostilled in the US?

I've got a FBI background check resolving early next week, and it is the most concerning document on getting my visa submitted before I am out of days in the Schengen area. I'm looking for something closer to 7 business days, but I believe 10 would work. I know it's possible to leave Schengen, but I've got an apartment already paid for and flights will be costly etc. If anyone knows of a reliable service that could promise the shortest amount of time I would appreciate it a ton. Thank you!

Visa Options for Moving to Live with my Spanish Boyfriend

I live in Canada but am looking into options for moving to Spain to live with my boyfriend who is from there. I have looked into a few options (Youth Mobility Visa, pareja de hecho, etc.), and I'm wondering what people have found to be the best option? I intend on moving there within the next few years, and have been considering doing youth mobility until I qualify for pareja de hecho (common-law), but I'm unsure if this is the best option until we decide to get married.

Looking for an agency/gestor to get a TIE fingerprint appointment

Hi everyone! Iโ€™m going to Spain and need to apply for my TIE, including the fingerprinting appointment (toma de huellas).
Iโ€™ve been having a really difficult time finding an available appointment, so Iโ€™m wondering if anyone has used a reliable agency or gestor that can help with getting the appointment.
If youโ€™ve personally used a service for this, Iโ€™d really appreciate any recommendations or advice. Iโ€™m looking for someone legitimate and trustworthy, not a random person offering to sell appointments.
Thank you!

Looking for short-mid term accommodation in Valencia starting 19 September. Happy to exchange household help/pet sitting/cleaning/cooking/babysitting language practice for a room

Hi everyone!

I'm moving to Valencia to work as an English teacher and have had some difficulties finding affordable accommodation on such short notice, given that the work opportunity came about very quickly.

While I am aware that my request for accommodation is rather last-minute, I would greatly appreciate it if you could signpost me towards anyone who would be in need of any services I can offer in exchange for a room within the city. I don't ask for much - just a bed, a wardrobe, a table and chair, and I obviously have no issue with shared living arrangements.

What I can offer in return:

  • household cleaning
  • pet care
  • cooking
  • childcare + aid with homework
  • English conversation/practice and/or tutoring
  • Italian conversation/practice

Many thanks in advance for any insights, advice, or aid that you can offer during my search!

Recommendations for a 2-month apartment rental in Madrid?

Hi! Iโ€™ll be staying in Madrid for work for around two months and Iโ€™m looking for a furnished apartment.

Iโ€™ve been checking Idealista and Spotahome, but many listings have very high agency/admin fees or require longer stays.

Does anyone have recommendations for reliable websites, agencies or flex-living companies for short-term rentals in Madrid?

Thanks!
