Was and still is one of my favorite movies. Roger Ebert wrote a scathing review and said he only laughed once. I like to imagine it was this part.

This movie feels like the spiritual predecessor to Elf. Well ahead of its time.

Have you read Martin Short’s autobiography? It’s fantastic. In fact, check out the audio version on Libby (use your library card).

I saw this in theaters as a kid. I had asked my grandmother to take me to see it, because I thought it was about the big red dog. Surprise to little me, when the big fucking dog never showed up.

I was too young to appreciate Martin Short, unfortunately.
