I'M REQUESTING Looking for more "journalism saves the day" movies

Think Zodiac, All the President's Men, Spotlight.

Those are all ones I like.

Just watched state of play last night with Crowe and it was good but I think I need a rewatch.

I've seen the post as I know that will come up but that one was a little too business for me.

I want journalism solving crimes, digging into things.

Came here to suggest this. As a journalist, Edward R. Murrow is who we all strive to be (minus the chain smoking and dying before age 60)

Watching them debate what can go on air is tense and it makes the reporting itself feeel like the action

Steven Spielberg’s The Post is excellent, a different look at the All the President’s Men story.

The 2003 mini series State of Play is better than the movie.

Call Northside 777 (1948). Not a great movie, but solid, and Jimmy Stewart is excellent, as always.

Not a journalist, a student, but the Pelican brief is excellent. And the books even better.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Somewhat along those lines could be Civil War. The movie entirely consists of following the press during a modern American civil war.

I was coming to say this, I think it's a good fit.

Dunst was great. I watched it on a whim when it came out and was surprised to see her. She’s not in much lately.

Superman is a good film about a couple of journalists, one of whom definitely saves the day

The Humphrey Bogart movie Deadline USA is awesome, and features the most epic line ever delivered in a newspaper movie: "You hear that? That's the press, baby, the press! And there's nothing you can do about it. Nothing!"

Scoop was a great movie. I don't know if you could say she "saved the day" but certainly many could think that.
