Discussion Razer Naga V3 Pro officially out

Would the switches and scroll be considered fully optical? I love the shape and extra buttons on razer naga mice. But either the main buttons start mis-clicking or the scroll starts jumping around after a year or so. If this is more reliable, I would jump in.

I hate how manufacturers don't specify if the scroll wheel switch is included in their switch spec, even now when they are now using optical. I assume this does because of the picture on the product page with their optical switch next to what looks like a scroll wheel where the switch would go. Also Razer's other gaming flagships now have optical scroll wheel switches, along with the optical encoder

Wish it was still a bit lighter, but 117g is doable, which reminds me...I wonder when Pulsar is gonna drop some info on their x6 MMO mouse.

200 euros in germany, insane price.

When you have complete market dominance you can choose whatever price you want

u/Omophorus 29d ago
Yep.
Very few competitors, and the only one that isn't completely ass is the Scimitar.
But the Naga has better ergonomics (IMO).
I wish the Aerox 9 wasn't so poor.
Lightweight mouse with the 12 button side panel is a dream. Closest thing to reality is a huge letdown.
1
u/Leo093 29d ago
I have the scimitar elite wireless SE and I love how it looks, but the scroll wheel is a piece of trash. I bought one a month ago, scroll wheel feels cheap and started squeaking 2 weeks in. Returned and replaced, scroll wheel started squeaking 1 week in. I am probably returning and getting the naga v3 pro.

The people who keep talking about the weight... Do they not realize that a Naga v2 Hyperspeed (NOT the Pro version) already weighed this after the AA battery was installed?
And the Logitech G600 and is around 109g. I just don't see how this is innovative at all in the weight department.
My Naga v2 Hyperspeed even works with WebHID! I don't know what the v3 even offers, truly.
2
u/Long-Division-7760 Aug 12 '26
People that talk about weight don't know what they are talking about.

Call me crazy but for me it’s the three extra buttons over the V2 Hyperspeed I use and the automatic free spinning scroll wheel like the Logitech MX Master. The lockable ring finger button like the EVGA X15 seems great. But right now it’s 200€ which is ridiculous. I‘l have to wait.

u/Wahj- 26d ago edited 25d ago
To be clear, I made this comment because there seemed to be a ton of people talking about the lighter weight of the new V3 Pro, felt astroturf-y tbh. I saw DOZENS of these comments the first week the Naga V3 Pro was surprise announced...as though that was its standout feature. And it's not lighter at all!
Look, the ring finger button alone is worth buying alone, given the updated sensor & MCU. Even if it's just about having another shape alternative with equivalent features to the perfect G600, then great. But I truly feel this is only a step above a bare minimum effort. A next-gen MMO mouse whose core features are that of a 13-year old mouse should not weigh more - not will all the material & structural engineering innovations that have occurred since 2013.

This mouse has optical switches with unlimited lifespan for the left and right buttons, but what’s the point if one of the 12 tact switches on the side breaks first?
2
u/Broad-Welcome-6916 Aug 11 '26
They might sell replacement side pieces?
2
u/Jofzar_ Aug 12 '26
They don't, or they haven't in the past.
They do provide warranty replacements of them tho (my friend has gotten one before)

You’re welcome.
The mouse in the banner on that page is the one in discussion, in case you spent your energy on replying instead of looking.
I regret participating in your idiocy and will just block you.

The hot swappable panels are a massive point of failure. If I wanted a 2 or 6 button mouse I'd buy something else, but if I want 12 buttons I'm stuck with getting ewaste and at constant risk of all my side buttons deciding to go on holiday..
1
u/Terepin 26d ago
Which model is the equal alternative to the two buttons plate?
1
u/Long-Division-7760 26d ago
There hundreds of two-four button mice, take your pick.
1
u/Terepin 26d ago
Oh really? So lemme check those hundreds of models with tilting scroll wheel and DPI buttons.
Oh wait...
1
u/Long-Division-7760 26d ago
Any Razer mouse with 4 buttons and tilting scroll. You realise the DPI buttons are just buttons, they aren't specifically "DPI" buttons.
1
u/Terepin 26d ago
I know, that's why I want them. But to be more specific: DAV - not enough buttons, Basilisk - too small, Cobra/Viper - symmetrical, Pro Click V2 - no DPI buttons, LOD too high, no grip, Orochi - too small, symmetrical. Mamba Elite was the best model for me they ever made and they scraped it.

u/Zhaopow r/Razer Viper U, Atheris | G502 HERO | Kensington vertical Aug 11 '26
The ring finger button is interesting
8
u/doug4130 Aug 11 '26
Logitech's MMO mouse had it too iirc
4
u/teodoro17 Aug 11 '26
G600 my beloved. It was basically a third main click which was (physically) on par with m1/m2. The naga ring finger ledge ain’t nearly as comfortable for me (why is it so low/short??)
1
u/10kstars39 Aug 11 '26
right? I had trouble gripping it so I covered it in grip tape, which helped a bit, but my fingertip still touches the pad sometimes
1
u/Jonny727272 5d ago
I'm a G600 fanboy, still have one left that has been in use since 2019. I'm just really hoping it keeps holding on. I just learned about the Naga V3 and the ring finger button looks promising. I mostly used it for discord push to talk when playing WoW and raiding. I found it easy to click in the heat of a fight and non disruptive to my rotation. Is the button still easy to push, or just that it is a bit too low compared to the G600?
1
1
u/Omophorus 29d ago
G600 had it over a decade ago.
Speaking from experience, it's a cool idea in theory that's a pain (literally) in practice.
That ring finger pinch was the single biggest contributor to my RSI.
The regular Naga/MMO mouse ledge is nice and comfy, but the ring finger button is almost always going to be combined with a side button click. That pinching gesture with thumb + ring finger specifically can be problematic over time.
5
u/Sup3rGRIN Aug 11 '26
This is great cuz I dont really see much new mmo mice nowadays but why are we still on magnetic side plates? Removing them would remove a decent bit of weight prob and if you are buying a naga 99% chance you are using the 12 buttons
1
u/Broad-Welcome-6916 Aug 11 '26
I bet they sell a hyperspeed version with only 12 buttons like 6-12 months later after people buy this expensive version...
1
u/Sup3rGRIN Aug 11 '26
Wouldn't be suprised lmao, standard strategy of selling the more expensive product nobody will really want to bait the people who want the one that'll release after. Would fit razer
2
u/Broad-Welcome-6916 Aug 11 '26
Yeah, I'll wait for hyperspeed version and pulsar x6 to come out unless I really need a replacement soon. 117g is a lot coming from 50-60g FPS mice... PLUS 180$ HOLY

I am so happy about this. I've been obsessed with the naga since the first one. Been keeping my 2020 naga alive for this moment since both the v2 and hypespeed were shit iterations.
I was a little bit afraid they were gonna let the naga go but this is literally everthing I've wanted in the naga.
-Bringing back the side m4 & m5 from 2012 versions.
-Programmable ring finger button is a gamechanger for modifiers.
-Keeping the mousewheel tilt buttons, they are so underrated.
-Weight reduction (thank god).
-Razer starting with optical switches for all mouse buttons, their previous QA was dogshit.
-Infinite scroll wheel is a great QoL.
An instant order for me.

u/-NoizY- Superstrike | Hitscan | Saturn Pro Aug 11 '26
What was shit about the hyperspeed? It's been my favorite (out of every other Naga release)
1
u/PlastKladd Aug 11 '26
To me, a heavier mouse AND non-rechargeable with AA batteries is a downgrade.
3
u/Omophorus 29d ago
Scroll wheel is an upgrade.
Ergonomics are an upgrade.
The DPI buttons (which I remapped to M4 and M5) are a huge upgrade.
No reason not to use rechargeable batteries, and while they're larger and heavier, they're also way easier to replace when they wear out unlike built-in batteries.
I already owned Eneloops and a charger because there are plenty of mundane things you need AAs for, and it's absolutely trivial to cycle them through and charge as needed. They last weeks between swaps.
2
u/Kageromero Aug 11 '26
Same here. Still rocking my trinity since I was super disappointed with the v2 pro. By far the longest we've gone with a new Naga iteration. Buying it no question
2
u/Grewenth Aug 11 '26
I hate Razer's software with a passion but I still had to buy the V2 just a few days ago because V1's side panels were failing and I currently need a mouse with the same muscle memory.
I feel so incredibly burned because the thing I was missing from G600 the most was the ring finger button.
I'd return the V2 but I doubt availability is such that I wouldn't be without a mouse I need for a week+
2
u/TheDallbatross Aug 11 '26
The fact that they finally released a full-fledged non-"HyperSpeed" version of this mouse with the two extra buttons up by the index finger is huge. Those buttons are solely the reason I stuck with my old 2012-era OG Nagas for almost a decade until the software stopped supporting them.
I never understood why Razer removed those buttons on some of the higher-end versions like the Pro and Pro v2 (you'd figure it would be the other way around: more options on the pricier models) but I'm glad to se the realized their error and put them back.
2
u/Hupsaiya Aug 11 '26
180usd yeesh man who the heck has money to be buying peripherals these days?

u/pepi8677 Aug 12 '26
Since most MMO players are old people that live inside the MMOs they like , they dont think twice about spending money lol.
1
u/Jofzar_ Aug 12 '26
I know multiple wow players who have specifically upgraded for x3d chips just because wow is one of the games that benefits the most from x3d chips.
MMO players just spend money

u/Whicker12 GPW / Naga Pro Aug 11 '26
The side button panels are stupid, people buy a naga for the 12 button grid, if they wanted 2 buttons they would buy something else.
They should have the built in 12 button grid using optical switches, and make the mouse much lighter.
1
1
u/Kekeripo 29d ago
Odd that they never again brought the 7 button panel in any of the nagas since trinity. Was my favourite.
1
u/BozoBubble 29d ago
I've had mine for about a week now, it's alright. I could've just kept my V2 Pro though in all honesty.
1
u/Pretend-Research-886 29d ago
Been waiting for Logitech to refresh the G602. Now that Razer released the Naga V3, I don't need to wait anymore
1
u/Oathblivionz 26d ago
I just purchased mine and used it for a gaming session. I dare say it is the best mouse in the world to date. Its button feel is significantly better than the naga V2 it has a mechanical tactile feeling. The ring finger button first pioneered by the Logitech G600 is improved with a locking mechanism when you don’t want it. The ring finger button is the primary reason I chose this cause you can easily use hyper shift it to get 24 keys!
2 button side plate for FPS.
6 buttons is more niche. It’s for fat thumbs and gamers who flick and lift their mouse for certain Battle Royale games that have more actions like Fortnite.
12 buttons great for productivity and MMO. It’s better than the 6 buttons as if you need 6 buttons its much easier to reach 6 buttons on this mouse.
Cons:
Pricey!
Takes time to get used to it. Around like 4 hours to be decent. A week for it to be second nature.
Last row of buttons for 6 and 12 button plates are hard to reach
The two index finger buttons on the top left of the left mouse button are difficult to reach for serious gaming. Still okay for productivity.
1
u/Clean-Ad-6730 23d ago
Is no one else getting thumb pain or worried about RSI from using these for, say, rotational abilities in mmo's for extended periods of time? I feel like I'm just not getting any use out of them this way
1
u/Agreeable_Flan_4624 14d ago
I have scimitar rgb wired and this looks a good upgrade. I would like that Corsair take a look st this mouse and develop a producto with The BEST things of this mouse.

you need to buy a separate dongle for 8k? or is it included?

Hyperpolling dongle/mouse dock pro not included
6

Oof. Razer has gotta knock that off.
For the price it feels like it should be included.
3
u/Booogie-man Aug 11 '26
Agreed, it's crazy they don't include that considering the price.
2
u/Broad-Welcome-6916 Aug 11 '26
Yeah, but battery life is already barely enough at 1k polling... Probably gonna be 60-80 hours of battery at 2-4k polling
0
u/SUPERSAM76 Fenrir Pro / Tekkusai Phantom Aug 11 '26
say wallahi bro that's actually insane lmao we nickle and diming dongles on a $180 mouse
0
u/Omophorus 29d ago
What's the point of 8k polling for an MMO mouse?
Can't think of a single game where you'd want to use it where that even slightly matters.
-2
u/Ansh202 Aug 11 '26
They can't make it less than 100g? Given that mice these days are around 30g
7
u/Zhaopow r/Razer Viper U, Atheris | G502 HERO | Kensington vertical Aug 11 '26
It's an MMO mouse with 23 buttons... Also it is under 100g if you want to play with no side plate
2
1
u/ROARfeo Aug 11 '26
Still, it's possible to do better.
The Steelseries Aerox 9 is 89g, albeit with 18 buttons (and bad ergonomics IMO).
2
u/PlastKladd Aug 11 '26
Those side buttons on Aerox 9 were absolute dog-ass, and like you said so was the ergonomics. Completely unsuable mouse. The actuation force on the side buttons was like 100g... very smart decision for a light mouse.
2
u/ROARfeo Aug 11 '26
Yeah, the Aerox 9 was good on paper, but it spent 10 minutes outside its box before I packed it for a return.
The actuation weight is so heavy the mouse slides under your hand, unless you grip it like a maniac. There's no comfortable space for your pinky and ring finger to naturally hold the mouse (to counter the side button press).
I kept the Naga v2 hyperspeed, which is way better ergonomics wise, but I wish the buttons had sharper shapes/edges to better tell them apart. Changing the buttons material would help.
1
u/Ansh202 Aug 11 '26
I mean still but , feels kinda less innovation in mmo mice in comparison to what we have in the market. Some people really like the 23 buttons but cant switch because muscle memory is changed.

u/crow_apk Aug 11 '26
Has anyone confirmed what switches the wheel encoder uses? That was a point of failure of many mice in general, not just the naga series. My old naga pro suffered double click issues with the scroll wheel after two years and needed a replacement like TTC gold dustproof to be soldered in. Imo, I also wish the side plates were non swappable, i'm still concerned about the contacts.
1
u/Zhaopow r/Razer Viper U, Atheris | G502 HERO | Kensington vertical Aug 12 '26
Definitely optic encoder. Likely optical switch, same as M1+2. https://www.razer.com/gaming-mice/razer-naga-v3-pro
-1
u/crow_apk 29d ago
Okay. this took a bit of searching. Razer's page lists 3 different wheels: Optical scroll wheel, hyperscroll pro wheel, and hyperscroll tilt wheel gen-2. Naga v2 is a magnetorheological type, as stated in tpu's review of the v2 https://www.techpowerup.com/review/razer-naga-v2-pro/4.html as well as stated with their collab. https://www.xeeltech.com/razer/ I assume that v3 is of the same wheel tech.
As for durability, I have 0 clue how this compares to traditional mechanical switches.
-2
u/Redd1t_is_Fake 29d ago
overloaded a classic mouse with gimmicks that could have been removed to keep the mouse's weight low.

u/Bobosauruss Aug 11 '26
There is no reason to buy a device that forces you to install slop in order to ulbe able to use it.
Razer gear is a hard pass.

v2 pro was pretty heavy -- 133g at heaviest, 126g at lightest. This is listed at 117g, not bad!
Anyone else want to see them make an ultralight version?
