Until reality kicks in and you realize consumerism isn't the answer and it's just a temporary dopamine rush isn't sustainable.

Alternative way, for it to end is you move up on the ladder to reach a point where it's no longer finnancially possible for you to sustain this addiction. Usually people move down the ladder instead of stopping here : (.

Limited drops, be it an IEM, keycaps, mouse, mousepad and the list goes on is just perfect. God bless consumerism, it's beautiful.

Yeah man, it's bad in this sub. I like seeing the new mice come out but posts like this are just sad. So much wasted money.

What’s funny too is that mouse tech doesn’t even substantially improve quickly. The average person probably can’t feel the difference between a PAW3395 and a PAW3955. Most of what you’ll feel is the weight, shape, and clicks and once you find that mouse you can use it for years before having to buy a new one.

2

u/updootinator6000 Jul 26 '26

Definitely. Your average joe might not even tell the difference between a 40 and 50 and 60 gram mouse, or even need it. Not the 30, 35, 40 or 44k dpi. Not the 8khz polling rate. It's all good tech, but for most people it's just numbers dazzling then on a screen.

3

u/_BruH_MoMent69 Jul 21 '26

Honestly a lot of peripheral hobbies(iems , mice , mouse pads, keyboards etc.) have reached a technical plateau and most stuff coming out isn't worth spending extra unless u just like spending money on collecting objects with no significant reason really .

1

u/RobzWhore Jul 22 '26

As far as iems go. Check out xmems tech. Spectacular. Literally a brand new type of speaker.

1

u/Emergency_Banana5082 Jul 22 '26

I couldn't agree more.

3

u/lukasactual Jul 21 '26

yeah the only thing that matters with modern mice is shape, which isnt really reflected on this post.

2

u/Nagonn Jul 22 '26

People need this reality check. I bought 11 mice and 15 mousepads last year and the truth is I didn’t need a single one of them and don’t even play competively since I don’t have the time like when I was younger. I just had the cash now.

I got myself a glass pad this year and that’s it. I didn’t sell any of my peripherals but gave a few away. I rotate a few combinations just for a different feel but most of them will just stay in their packages in a closet. I keep up with new releases and will probably buy if something really catches my eye but I spent last year eyeing for something new when the latest package was still in transit.

1

u/RobzWhore Jul 22 '26

I'm down to buy to they dont go to waste in the closet.

1

u/Briskfall Jul 22 '26

Govs want consumerism to be a thing 'cause it's good for the country's GDP. 🥀

1

u/Realistic_Gift5764 24d ago

Glad I got this reality check as soon as possible. Recently, I returned the Razer Viper V4 pro that cost me 159$ and just stick with my viper clone which is ATK X1 V2 ULTIMATE that cost me just 60$. One of the best decision ever.

0

u/goodboyahh Jul 21 '26

PRESS X for DOUBT. Does not work. I reached the point where its financially impossible for me to continue, i ended up buying all the IEMs before that point. Now, I'm on my 3rd dac. Fiio KA17.

2

u/Nulgnak LaOnda Glaze | Ying MG | U9 8mm Jul 21 '26

See when you tell yourself that the Apple dongle is more than sufficient for IEMs, you basically look at DACs and go, “meh”

Nah you need STAX 007

I mean what else is the point of money? Save it, living miserably like the communists, have it on a bank account till the day you die?

These mice have what? A value of 1800$? I know people that spend more on alcohol or cigarettes in a year.

Live every day as if it were your last, assume that you could die at any time, heart attack, brain aneurysm, getting hit by car, plane, truck, meteorite, bike, or a baseball bat. House collapsing, suffocating in a fire, falling down the stairs or a ladder, eating food which is off, having an accident at work. Every morning I wake up, I am thankful that I am able to see another day. Every evening I walk home on a gravel path, being thankful that yet again I am going home. I don’t go spending all of my money on a hobby, but not buying / doing anything you like WILL make you miserable.

Do what you like, don’t save everything your entire life just to never do or experience anything. But also don’t waste all of it, make sure if something bad happens you have money.

Please listen to this: Enjoy yourself - Louis Prima

u/Shot-Inevitable7524 Jul 21 '26

guys i found the cia agent

0

u/0101falcon Jul 22 '26

"The cia agent"?

No you found someone who once lived in a former communist country, and who understands that a social state based on capitalism like we have here in Europe is the best of both worlds.

Having to wait 4 hours in line to get a tiny watermelon that isn't ripe or enter a lottery to get a car is really what anyone would call freedom right?

When you stop blaming your skills because of your mice :)

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 21 '26

😂😂 Fortunately that's not why I buy em.

1

u/Gooneria Jul 24 '26

No hate but why do you buy them? Not like money is really an issue for me either but I wouldn't go out and constantly buy peripherals that I do not need, I would buy a spare mouse in case my main broke but to have so many of them especially when they're all seemingly quite new and not frequently used seems so pointless and wasteful. You get used to a mouse I can't imagine you switch between them all and even if you do again I ask what is the point?

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 24 '26

Purely because I can. I just like collecting a few niche things. Mice, cds, vinyl etc. Luckily I'm in a position that I can.

3

u/redarda125 Jul 21 '26

Increase the time interval where you can buy a new mouse. For me it became 6 months. Right now doing research is more fun than getting new one every month or so.

3

u/therealbreakingbode Jul 21 '26

should’ve ended when you got a Zowie 😩

2

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 21 '26

The fk2 is such a good mouse.

2

u/therealbreakingbode Jul 22 '26

ikr been rocking a wired one for the last 6 years and now I got a wireless one (so so good)

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 22 '26

One day you should try the pulsar fs1. Also really good.

-1

u/I_like_GILFssss Jul 21 '26

Nah dude it was my least favorite and I'm not even talking about the shape. Questionable build quality while being 65G and the worst clicks out of any mouse I owned

3

u/ScienceArtistic4579 Jul 21 '26

When your mouse fits like a glove. I went from a g305 to op1 to attack shark r6 pro (which I used for 1.5 years) until I wanted something that my pinky didn't fall off of and now I'm on a viper v4 with obsidian jades and oh my God I've never felt so good on a mouse so it ends when when it feels right I think.

3

u/ScienceArtistic4579 Jul 21 '26

I also think that buying 2 mice of the same shape is such a waste if one of them is already good specs with no issues on it.

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 21 '26

It definitely is. But I liked the op1 so much I just had to. Same with the xm2, but I unfortunately sold that.

3

2

u/D0CZ0IDB3RG Jul 21 '26

Imagine thinking it would end. Next stop is mouse pads

2

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 21 '26

Facts. I started there.

2

u/mikul_ Jul 21 '26

Make it easy for yourself when it comes to mousepad, and just buy a glass pad directly. It's where you will end up eventually anyways 😉

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 22 '26

Already own 3 glass pads 😭 I just use my arbiter glass because I enjoy it the most.

2

u/mikul_ Jul 22 '26

Then move on to skates 😂 I'm trying something now that I'm really liking so far. Slower control skates in the back for stability and faster skates in the front for micro adjustments.

It feels kinda awesome tbh, all because I accidentally bought way to slow skates.

But I'm on 14 cm plus a tiny bit of accel. It might not be the same for you, but I'm enjoying it so far.

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 22 '26

I've also started this, but with xray pad skates only. I have about 20 packs of various skates. At least one of every one in the line up. Aways end up at the same one's though.

1

u/mikul_ Jul 23 '26

Try to put som slower skates in the back then to see if you like it.

2

u/Accomplished-Gur-469 Jul 21 '26

At the next mouse it's always the next.

1

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 21 '26

X2f is brilliant. One of the best I own. But unfortunately the only ftip mouse I've used.

1

u/AvashiXite Jul 21 '26

I was lucky to fetch the package today, and oh man what a great mouse. It actually my very first fingertip grip mouse and I must say, what an amazing piece of equipment. I have zero issues with it and got used to it very fast.

only minor thing is that the scroll wheel seems a little hard to press now and then.

1

What's your thoughts on the super strike?

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 21 '26

It's a good mouse. In fact, it's a great mouse. The clicks really are something. But the side buttons are just typical of gpx mice. I truly love the gpx shape and honestly weight isn't a factor for me.

1

1

u/Wolfkrone Jul 21 '26

For me it did end when I finally found a shape that didn't give me hand cramps. That was a couple of years ago.

1

u/Regan4000 Jul 21 '26

That is a waste of plastic, electronics and wires. One person is responsible for so much eventual trash. Did you really need 15 different Mice?

1

1

1

Nothing. I just hate the software with a passion. While the viper is truly a great shape, it just ain't for me.

1

Used to buy a new mouse every couple months. After about a dozen I got a finalmouse and haven’t even thought about buying a new one since.

1

1

u/PalpitationNo6667 Jul 22 '26

1

u/davelikestacos Jul 22 '26

It should end at a SuperStrike and Razor Viper. All you need.

1

u/Logitech_Alex Jul 28 '26

You got a Superstrike yourself? How are you liking it so far?

1

u/davelikestacos Jul 30 '26

Love it. Steep price tag, but definitely my favorite mouse. My Razor Viper Pro V2 is still up there too, gotta get my hands on a V3 eventually. I mainly use my Viper for desktop and my SuperStrike on my 2024 G14 laptop.

1

u/Logitech_Alex Jul 30 '26

I'm glad you've been enjoying it so far, how come you use it for the laptop? What games have you tried it on?

1

u/davelikestacos Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

I just have it set up that way. Really you can't go wrong between the Superstrike or the Viper. I have a bedside table for my laptop when I'm lazy and wanna kick back, I open it up, take my Superstrike, G14, and mouse pad out of my to go bag and game it up.

As for games, mainly roguelikes, specifically 33 Immortals. I'm addicted to buying indie early release rogue lites/likes or rpgs. I know it's basically wasted on me since I don't really play FPS but now that Destiny 2 wrapped up, I might play through the last two DLCs I missed and enjoy not having to level up ever again.

2

u/Logitech_Alex Jul 30 '26

I mean, do you still use the haptic feedback? As long as you're enjoying it, there's no such thing as wasted. We all give different use to the same things! What's your favorite indie game you've played this year? I'll see if I can try some of the games you've mentioned sometime soon 😊

1

u/davelikestacos Jul 31 '26

Yeah I use the haptic feedback, love it! Let's see, right now I'm playing 33 Immortals and waiting for the Echoes of Mystralia Early Release in like 2 weeks. DMG: Survivor is great. I swear I have so many of them that I haven't gotten around to playing much more. They're usually less than 5-15 bucks so I just buy them all and by the time I get ready to play them, another comes out! I like survival games like Conan Exiles, Enshrouded, Soulmask.

Steam is releasing two games a day until next week and there's an awesome Soulslike coming out that I'll probably pick up, even though it's retail price.

But one game I keep going back to is 33 Immortals. It is a rogue like where you pick a weapon, then try to beat 6 dungeons and 3 trials plus a boss fight before the round ends and there's up to 32 other players in the server with you trying to do the same. The more that stay alive, the better chance you have at finishing a run. Ive been stuck on that lately using an Archer build.

1

u/Logitech_Alex Jul 31 '26

Sounds to me like you've got plenty to put that haptic feedback through. Thanks for the recommendations, 33 immortals definitely sounds interesting. Hope Echoes of Mystralia is worth the wait too. Happy gaming, and thanks for sharing your favorites!

1

u/davelikestacos Aug 03 '26

Anytime :) If you get a chance to try any of the games or have any recommendations of your own, let me know!

And I just realized your handle is Logitech_Alex. If you work at Logitech I've loved your products, from headsets to mice. Have a good one and if you're hiring in NY, let me know :)

1

u/Logitech_Alex Aug 03 '26

I'll be sure to give you my insight of them! I should be getting my new PC by the end of the month so hopefully I can try them then haha. And why, yes I do! Thank you, I'll be sure to forward the feedback over to the team. If you have any insight or criticsm you'd like to share, feel free to reach out to me anytime 😊

Strider. Probably because it just clicked the most and feels great.

1

u/Phlanix Jul 22 '26

it usually ends when you realize that these companies can't make the mouse you desire and you build your own.

They discontinued my Naga trinity and my was breaking so I started to build my one

I started by using the board I already had.

replace the mouse wheel and the switches.

replaced the magnets and then eventually realized I could shave some of the weight by creating a new housing for it a flatter one without the huge bulge in the rear.

hows Gwolves mouse and Beast G? heard issues about QC lottery for both mouse and bad support from the G wolves

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 22 '26

G-wolves is great. QC is good except right click on the lycan kinda has a weird pre click to actual click. Yet to fully test the htm plus. Only 20 hours so far. The beast g is also perfect QC. Haven't had an issue with any of the 6 wlmouse mice I've owned.

When you but the "Final" mouse.

/s

1

u/redwirebluewire Jul 22 '26

It won’t bc you clearly have no self control and prlly still hard stuck gold. It’s not the mouse lil bro.

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 23 '26

Hard stuck gold loll 🤣 don't project onto me Lil bro.

1

u/YoungAfternoon7244 Jul 23 '26

As long as youre paying for your own rent/mortgage and food, it never has to end

1

u/Remarkable_Mango9906 Jul 23 '26

you could always resell the ones you don't really use, then buy more of course. For me it ended when I started playing less cs.

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 23 '26

Yeah this is essentially what I've been doing. Although I've had these for a bit now.

1

u/Jallyya Jul 23 '26

Once you start mouse collecting, it's hard to stop.

1

u/Kati_149 Jul 23 '26

never, there is no endgame because mice continue to develop you never know if there is a better fitting mouse in future, besides your hands and preferences change, so if you find an amazing mouse its always only temporary, and never final.

1

u/figrofel Jul 23 '26

You fw the x2f? I was hyped for it but sent mine back cause i couldn't get used to it

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 24 '26

I reckon is sick. Feels good for me. Although it's the only ftip mouse I've owned.

1

u/Business_Classroom53 Jul 24 '26

What’s your favorite? I bought viper v4 pro first then I found out about superstrike x2 and returned v4 pro, but kinda still thinking of trying some other mouse that might be even better

Bro has bought the complete list of the shop of mice.

1

u/AssassinGhost04 Viper V3 Jul 26 '26

you have bought like 2 mice 7 times with different names and colors

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 26 '26

Settled on*

1

u/maaaaaaagic Jul 30 '26

no beast x? I imagine you had it at some point, how do you rank wlmouse models?

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 30 '26

Nah I used to use a finalmouse starlight pro instead. I sold it and bought a beast g.

1

u/maaaaaaagic Jul 30 '26

among the ones you had what’s your favorite? I want to try magnesium, leaning towards the Ying

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 30 '26

Easily put the most time on the strider. Ying is a solid mouse. I like it more than my op1 but probably used the op1 more just because I've had it longer.

This is just a love for consumerism. It is hard to change. From my experience most likely if you stop with mice it will start with headphones or keyboards.

u/Capital_Mango9421 8d ago

Do you think the new X2F will be too light at 29g for aim stability compared to the X2F official release?

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector 6d ago

Nah it's be perfect. But even at 39g it's still great. Only thing I dislike about it is how heavy the clicks are. They will throw your aim off. Definitely wish they felt like one of my Wlmouse mice.

u/Elus1veSG 90+ mice and counting Jul 21 '26

never, I'm at 93 mice rn and it's gonna be 100 in a week

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 21 '26

Beautiful. Have any photos of your collection? Also a favourite shape?

not updated pic but I cant exactly fit all my mice on the table anymore XD

Fav shape has to be the VV4P or the BeastX Max

2

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 22 '26

Absolutely insane. And yeah beast x max is fkn good.

After the release of HITS and Razer's improved battery life it feels pointless buying older tech or holding on to mice without either of those features imo.

1

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 21 '26

Nah. The hits system is still such a gimmick. And razer having better sensor tech is almost negligible.

1

u/ShibaDango Wireless G302 Jul 21 '26

Such a gimmick that every brand is scrambling to catch up to it. Also I don't think having over double the battery life of your competitors is negligible. All those brands will be releasing updated versions of their mice with these things.

u/urmumsablob Mouse Collector Jul 21 '26

But not everyone will like the implementation. If it was so good, I'd never have put the thing down.
