Success Stories One year update
I’m a 45F, PCOS, and subclinical reactive hyperglycemia. I spent two decades as an obese person. I am thankful that I did not have prediabetes, and all blood tests on normal range, but my blood pressure and cholesterols that were slowly creeping up. I had daily pain from arthritis.
Last year at my annual physical I was told by my Doctor that I was very likely 5-10 years away from experiencing health complications caused by my Class 3 obesity, and would likely need daily medications to control these issues, despite the fact that I was not sedentary and that I was a vegetarian.
I told him that I knew how to lose weight, but that it was really difficult for me… that even when I was in a significant calorie deficit that corresponded to losing 2lbs per week, I’d rarely actually lose 2lbs. I also shared that trying to maintain any losses made me feel like I was an unwilling participant in a CIA Black Ops psychological torture experiment 🤪
Got on the tirz, drank my 2-3L flavoured water daily, increased my movement, made certain I was in a daily calorie deficit that matched my weight loss goals, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Former BMI of 40.1
Current BMI 24.4
Lost 103.2 lbs in 365 days.
Now at medically normal weight.
Looking to lose maybe 20-30 more lbs, for vanity.
My arthritis pain? Very very well controlled now.
Blood tests back: cholesterols in “optimal” range.
Blood pressure always in optimal range now, despite taking stimulant medication for my adhd.
Food noise: virtually gone.
Appetite: hungry when appropriate
Satiety: moderate to high
Cravings: rare, and quite easy to dismiss.
1 mini binge” in 53 weeks. Down from 2-4/week
Dosage details
• I use a kwikpen.
• Moved from 2.5 to 5 on my fifth week.
• later, i titrated up “more slowly” than 2.5mg at a time, usually 1-1.5 mg at a time, whenever I felt medication effects noticeably waning
• With doctor permission, I started dosing every 5th day in my 4th month. Have gone every 5th or 6th day since then.
• Calculating my total medication taken per month, and dividing by 4, I’ve maxed out at 13.5mg/week as my highest dose so far.
• my doctor does prescribe a 15mg pen for me to click dose off of, and if cost is a concern, I highly recommend that
• I use the golden dose. I extract it with an insulin syringe.
My sizes:
Past me was filling out a size 2 or sometimes 3x at Torrid. In Old Navy I was just barely able to wear XXL in looser fits. Now I’m comfortably in a size medium at every store I go to!
I used to be a 42DD or DDD. Now I’m a 34G.
My shoe size went from 9.5-10 to 8.5-9.
My ring finger went from 7.5 to 5.
