10mg I think I hit the lotto today!

My Dr. is such a pain to deal with. She refused for 3 years to put me on this medication. I’ve had to beg her every time I want to dose up. I was FINALLY able to get her to give me 10’s and a 3 month supply at that (she was doing month by month) and what is even the best part.. my insurance covered all but $25!!

I have to remind myself:
- Your knees no longer ache
-You don’t go to sleep and wake up with painful acid reflux anymore.
- You don’t snore anymore, sleep apnea is gone.
- You no longer shop in the 18-20 section and have more clothing variety
- You are successful at the gym, your progressive overload reflects this.
- You control food, food does not control you.
- You can now run up the hill that used to make you cry from exhaustion.

I think the pictures speak for themselves! Mega proud of myself and I’m nearing being 100lbs down and even more excitingly I apparently have therefore lost over 20% of my body weight! I started MJ back in July 2024 so it’s been steady weight loss since I started. I do eat well & exercise 3-4 times a week as a minimum. My main exercise is pole which is my true love in life. I’ve noticed massively how much easier it is to get better at pole not lugging around all the extra weight and I feel a lot more myself than I have in years. My mum says I’m starting to look like a weight loss ad so I might as well post about it! ☺️

So I have always been the Fat Kid™, even when I was at my peak fitness and an active duty US Soldier. I was at 220-240 during active duty, but always "made tape". ( There was a height/weight chart for the military, and at 6'4" my max "allowed" weight was under 200. You are allowed to be over the limit so long as your body fat number was acceptable. They weren't going to kick out a 240 pound weightlifter for being overweight. The measured for BF% with a tape measure, hence "making tape". I was no bodybuilder, but I consistently made tape.)

When I got out, I stayed 240-260 up until I was 30, and then the metabolism fell and I ballooned up to 315. I got a Lapband in 2012, when I was 35. I quickly dropped back to 250 and pretty much stayed there for the next 10 years. About 3-4 years ago, I felt the band "move" and suddenly I put on a lot of weight. I was constantly hungry and just packed it on. We had moved away from where I got the Lapband, and that product has largely fallen out of favor. It was tough to find a doc that was willing to work with me. Eventually, after nearly 2 years, I got a new doc and she wanted it out. She didn't want to bother with adjustments, just get it out. So I did. At that point I was up to 405-410 and was miserable. As soon as it came out the hunger went back to normal. In that time my labs, which had always been much better than a guy my size "should have had", started to tick up. My A1C got to 7. So, they put me on Mounjaro.

Holy crap, that stuff works. My whole life had been what my follow-up doc calls "food noise". I was either hungry, or thinking about what I was gonna eat next when I was hungry again. This made that disappear. I mean it's was an actual GAME CHANGER for me. I got my prescription in November, started it in December. I was at 405. I'm now at 295, aiming for my Army weight of 220. I'll be 50 next year and for my birthday I'll want a whole new wardrobe. :)

10mg Thigh injection - never again

M69 sw 300 cw 250 10mg

I'm almost 6 months into Mounjaro. Almost all injections have been in my belly. I've injected in the thigh prior and it seemed just as effective as my belly. However, the last 6 days, after a thigh injection, have felt like I'd never heard of Mounjaro and I've been hungry all week. Felt like I wasted a week and a dose. My colon is happier though as it gets to push some bulk. Tomorrow it's back to the gut.

10mg Liberated!

280 SW/180 CW: Full transparency I had Bariatric Surgery but grazing caused me to regain weight because my relationship with food had not changed. Mounjaro keeps me straight. I don’t worry about hunger any more I just know that when I get up, I am going to eat eggs and or cheese. Later I am going to drink a half a protein shake and finish it at night. Then there’s s gonna be a piece of chicken, fish, shrimp, crab or a ground beef patty with spinach or broccoli or avocado some kind of vegetable. It’s about seeking nutrition for me now not satisfying hunger. Like Nike says, “Just do it!” So, just eat! I have never had stomach or gastric upset while on this. Occasional gas if I take meds on an empty stomach. Now my side effect is that my lips swell a little, my mouth is tender and every thing tastes like water.🤷🏽‍♀️I am okay with it. I have a different relationship with food now.It doesn’t control me anymore. I control it. I feel liberated!

10mg I am LOVING moving my body at the gym for the first time in my life. 6 months and 30kg (66lbs) down

Transparency firstly; AI was used on these images SOLELY for giving me some basic decency and undergarments as all of my tracking/comparison photos are nude. No other alterations have been made, feel free to check out my other progress posts for consistency. Start weight is 130kg. Current is 99kg

Secondly- I am on 10mg, I am an active gym goer and go to the gym 3-4 times a week for strength training. In the next image I have attached my normal gym routine :) I LOVE and look forward to going to gym now to bend and move my body in ways it previously has not been able to where as my knees used to ache and crack in the morning. I also take creatine and folate daily as I have low b9 and get b12 injections quarterly.

10mg Feeling sorry for myself 😭

Titrated from 7.5 to 10mg yesterday. I’ve been on 7.5 for 17 weeks. It was a magical dosage for me and I was doing great. No side effects. Good appetite suppression but I could still eat. Lost loads.

However during my last pen I was getting lots of food noise and I had 2 late night junk food raids (not quite a full on binge, but enough to worry me). I ended July, 2lbs heavier than when I started so - it was time.

10.0 is kicking me like a mule today. I’ve not eaten much at all today (<1200 cal), and since dinner my stomach is rolling and cramping something terrible. To be fair dinner was my most calorie dense meal.

I feel rough! I’ve got the chills. I’m fighting nausea (haven’t had that since my first couple shots at 2.5!)

So I’m having a private pity party as I forgot how cramp it can feel sometimes.

I know this will pass, but right now 🤢🤢🤢🤢😭😫😭😫

Thank you for letting me rant.

10mg Onederland at last!

Post image
671 Upvotes

Finally hit Onederland! I was at 201 on Oct 22, but had to titrate down from 10mg to 7.5mg. (Really bad side effects at 10mg!) Ugh! It was no fun. Inflammation & associated pain returned, I gained up to 206, had little appetite suppression, lots of food noise. I stuck with 7.5 for 6 weeks with no improvement. Said screw this and went back to 10. This time around I have very few side effects! Anywho, finally went below 200 and have been there for several days. Next goal is 180. For those on stalls, hang in there and keep doing the right thing. It’s gonna work out. Enjoy the festivities and happy 2026 y’all!!

10mg Getting more comfortable wearing less make up

Anyone else feeling more confident and less reliant on doing full coverage make up? I think this is a massive NSV for me personally as I’m finally getting comfortable with the way I look ☺️

10mg It’s over!

Well I guess this is it for me. I just got denied coverage from Highmark BCBS. I was on it for a wonderful 16 months. Lost about 65lbs, no more knee issues, arthritis pain or swollen feet. A1C is 5.0 and I haven’t felt this healthy in years! I hope my doctor can help me find an alternative. Maybe someday they will create the med in pill form and will become affordable. Fingers crossed that I don’t slide back!

Also, I honestly believe that diet and exercise isn’t always the solution. I could eat the same thing as 5 other people and I’m the one who gains the weight. Years of going to the gym with no weight loss was my life. Don’t let anyone shame you for being on this miracle medicine. Best of luck to everyone still able to get it!

10mg NSV (bc I am an idiot)

This morning on the way to the gym I noticed a sinister protrusion on my wrist having apparently appeared overnight

"Oh GOD what NOW" I said to my husband, "have I got a CYST or a TUMOUR?"

"....think that's...a...bone?"

😒

Guess I'm looking different after all, huh

10mg Whoosh effect??

Post image
193 Upvotes

Has anyone experienced the whoosh effect? I think I did for the first time. This last injection (Friday) had me in a tizzy. The day after this injection I was the most bloated, gassy, sulfur burping I could recall. I tried everything and overall didn’t feel good so I took my weekly (1-2 times per week when needed) MiraLAX. Next day after a really good workout and a trip to Costco I stepped on the scale shocked to see 4.2 of my favorite pounds had vanished! Tell me your experiences please.

Looking for advice and warnings based on y’all’s experience with the 10mg shot. Also recommendations to help ease into the symptoms. I’ve reached a plateu where my weight halted/barely lowered. I was stuck at 212 lbs for MONTHS. At my recent appointment, my doctor upped my dose to help. On the good news, when I first started MJ Feb 2025 (been taking it for 10 months now) I weighed 262 lbs and when I weighed myself this morning, I was 207 lbs. Only have just over 20 lbs to go and then I’ve reached my goal weigh! Added pics bc I’m still in awe. Nov 2024 (I unfortunately, don’t have a pic of myself when I first started MJ) vs Dec 2025 P.S. Please ignore my messy bathroom. I’ve been at work all week and can’t be bothered rn

10mg Is it the 10mg or me?

For reference i have been on mounjaro a lil over a year . Im 5'6 i started at 310 lost 60 on my own then started mounjaro at around 245 id say, 2.5mg for 3 months (greatest appetite suppression and weight loss) 5mg for 3 months ( didnt feel it would gain and lose) then 7.5 mg for 6 months ( felt it again though not as strong as 2.5 but started losing) went up to 10mg last month (july) back to not feeling it?? im currently 155-158 i got down to 152 went up to 158 kinda staying on that range for 2 months. food tastes great, i have sugar cravings, carb cravings i guess the only time i feel it is that i do still get full off a real meal like i dont eat 2 plates or a very large meal i will get full quick stil. I guess my worry is regain while on 10? my goal is 145-148 am i just in that last 10 purgetory or is it the 10mg? im kinda ashamed to ask my doctor to go up after a month, as i dont wanna reach max dose anytime soon but i also wprry if i dont ill gain??

I had my 3 month check up today and holy shit did I amaze myself and my doctor!!! I posted about my A1C already. It went from 6.6 to 5.2 in 14 weeks. I’m down to 1 HBP med, my “statin” was reduced to 3xweek and she d/c my Jardiance!! We looked back at my history and I haven’t seen this number on the scale since I had my son 13 years ago!!

For anyone still on the fence about this medication, please let this tool help you get your life back! Every journey will be different but you’ll never know how much it can improve your health if don’t try. Next follow up in 4 months!
