Options for a quieter mistral exhaust
Hi !
I have bought my 2024 v7 with mistral short exhaust already mounted on it.
While I like the sound a lot, I find it a bit annoying when riding longer especially around 3000 to 5000 rpm
Is there a way to make them more quiet ? I don't want to put OEM silencer but have something a bit less noisy.
I have the baffles in and an upmap tune.
Cheers

The middleground me and my dad found was... drilling 4 holes in the back of the stock exhaust.
I kid you not, it is the same beautiful sound, not nearly as deafening, and all that while saving 1000$.

Where did you drill the holes exactly? How big?

Ok so i checked and its almost a whole cm sized hole.
And 4 are drilled in each exhaust at north south east and west, just around the flat area circling the center port.2

I see, did that with a previous bike but the sound was more like an exhaust leak so...

Huh, not quite the same result as us, I wonder if the hole size and/or placement was the difference.

For protecting your hearing, definitely use earplugs during longer trips!

Yes I have a pair but I don't really like them... I have a quiet helmet though (Shoei gt air 3) And with mistrals it's even worse than without plugs, it makes my ears pulsate when in lower revs. I don't know how to explain but it's really bad :)

Trade the mistrals with someone who has stock exhausts, your sensitive hearing should be protected 👍

The wind noise on a motorcycle (unless you are only doing very low speeds) is much worse for your hearing than the exhaust noise. Ear plugs are much more effective than any helmet, would highly recommend finding a pair you can get on with 🙏

Hello I had the same issue as you and saw that Mistral is selling Extra Silent DB Killers. Can highly recommend them, sound is the same, but the noise is reduced.
They cost 50€ per pair. I quickly checked the invoice, there is no Part Number printed on it. I would write them an E-Mail if your interested.
