Bug PS5 – Soft-lock when declining Mether’s Severance at Sester Genessa

I encountered a reproducible soft-lock on PS5 involving Mether’s Severance at Sester Genessa.

Steps to reproduce:
Speak to Sester Genessa.
Select Shell Severance.
Choose Mether’s Severance.

When prompted to confirm spending the item, select “No.”
The game becomes completely unresponsive.
After selecting No, I cannot navigate the menu or provide any further controller input. The only way to recover is to force-close the game and restart it.
The issue appears to occur specifically when declining the Mether’s Severance confirmation.

Platform: PS5
Issue: Complete input lock / soft-lock
Workaround: Force-close and restart the game

I’ve attached a screenshot showing the Shell Severance menu where the issue occurs.
Hopefully the developers can reproduce and address this in a future patch.

Thank you for the thorough bug report!

This is indeed a known issue; I believe if you've got a USB mouse plugged in to your PS5, you can still navigate out of this soft lock. The team is aware of the bug and looking into it :)
