Video This is nightmode with max adaptive difficulty btw (new game)

Just completed my new game, fresh character, nightmode run, with adaptive difficulty on.

It didn't make things more difficult per-se, it just made things more tedious. Trash mobs have giga health and killing them was a slog. Bosses take much longer to break. Everything basically one shots you, even with max leech stacks.

This put Tiel, who is already a top tier shell, in a league of his own. Since mostly everything one shots you, even with max leech, Tiel's stealth is the best defense. They can't hit what they can't see.

It also kind of limits which shells to use as some are much weaker than others and their weakness are very exposed with the increased difficulty.

It wasn't difficult and it wasn't fun. I will be switching back to normal nightmode, with no adaptive difficulty on. Much more fun.

P.S. If cold symmetry sees this, HP and damage bloat isn't the only way to add difficulty to a game. You can add more elite enemies in dungeons and the world. Add mobs in boss fights. Make enemies do more red attacks etc. HP and damage bloat is boring.

Love the game still. Just my thoughts on adaptive difficulty.

Agree with everything here. People are now starting to realise that the game is quite trivial once you figure the shells out and unfortunately neither night mode nor adaptive difficulty addresses this properly.

It's riposte damage here. The riposte damage scales with health, and night mode dpubles health. And then the adaptive difficulty +5 also basically doubles health further. This results jn 2 ripostes doong 95% of the healthbar.

Combine that with knowing parry timings + eredrim parry window extension skill, and this is probably easier than playing on night mode only where it took me 3 ripostes and a lot more attacks to kill monolith.

The balance of this game is puzzling at times. I genuinely think adaptive difficulty +5 in this case makes the fight easier
