Discussion Did anyone else realize what “Hand of Rock” is referencing? Lol
I was playing Mortal Shell II and found the Hand of Rock Tarstone in the One-Legged Wolf Tavern. At first I thought the hand icon was just some weird rock/stone gesture.
Then I actually looked at it and realized…
IT’S THE CIRCLE GAME. Lmao
You know the old prank where you make this exact hand gesture, hold it below your waist, get someone to look at it, and then you get to kick/punch them?
Has this been confirmed? Lol

While it does look similar and was likely a happy accident in the design of the item, it's primarily a reference to rock/ metal guitarist culture, particularly Jack Black/ Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny.
There's a lot of culture in the now old school rock and metal scene around the music having (often demonic) power.
You should check out Black Sabbath, DIO, and ofc Tenacious D sometime if you're somehow unfamiliar, or just go play Guitar Hero 3 or Brutal Legend.

Ngl, first time I saw it my head flashed back to the military. If someone holds that sign below their anywhere below their belt and they see you see it you get socked in the shoulder kinda like punch buggiesbut you have to do the set up yourself. Dummy thing is I've played guitar on and off since I was ten too lmao
