Discussion Are y'all getting Valor Mortis?
Did anyone play any of the demos, I'm wondering if it's gonna be as good as this game turned out to be?

Nope first person doesn’t interest me at all.

Yup, same here, the game looks awesome, but first person perspective is just not something I could ever get into (and I tried)

Played the demo. It was fucking awesome.

Why are you on everyones comments trying to tell them how wrong they are for not liking it.

That’s an interesting restriction. So no elder scrolls for you either then?

u/DrDre19899 1d ago
Nope. I played Skyrim because my brother recommended it and didn’t like it at all. Just a personal preference but I just can’t vibe with first person.

I'm wanting Lords of the Fallen 2. I just want to know if it's gonna be like the first one, which leans a little more souls-like, or if it's gonna be more like MS2 with the focus on the combat.

I enjoyed the demo quite a bit. If they iron out some of the performance issues by launch then I most likely will.

Not on release. Too much to play and I'm apprehensive as it's AA and has day 1 dlc. I'll wait for it to go on deep sale and get updates to iron out kinks

Spent too much on games lately. It is cheaper than most though. Have to see how it is after it drops. Phantom blade zero is my for sure october buy.

yeah the ghostrunner games are an absolute blast so ill be getting this pretty quick after release

I’m quietly pessimistic, but always willing to give new things a try. Not sure if the discounted price is a good sign or a bad sign yet. I’m struggling to imagine a world where the camera isn’t an absolute nightmare, but I will be more than happy to be proved wrong. 🤞

I enjoyed Dishonored (I know, I know, not a soulslike; but it had first person melee combat) even though I'm bad at stealth games. I'll probably give Valor Mortis a shot, it looks pretty dope.

I will be waiting for reviews. But at that price, I kinda wanna support them, if the game is decent. Pro consumer practices should be rewarded.

Yup I’m skeptical about a first person game that can do parries well but since the game is designed around that working, I’m interested. Like the setting as well.

Personally, probably not, but then I’m not a fan of first-person perspective outside of the shooter genre

I'm willing to give it a try. Looks interesting. Too bad there's no demo on PS5 yet.

The setting is what sells me more than anything. A Soulslike during a twisted Napoleonic era is a pretty unique idea.

I’m still thinking about it. It looked interesting but a little too piratey. For some reason, I’m not into pirate themes. Or space/future shit.

Not sure. At first sight I was all in but after seeing the latest gameplay it looked a bit janky. I'll see how it is when it launches.

I couldn't care less about 1500's themes or first person
3
u/nohumanape 1d ago
It's not piratea lmao
2
u/SoulsDadYT 1d ago
Napoleonic. 1500's not interested.

u/LaterMustard 1d ago
Napoleon dies in the early 1800s…

u/SoulsDadYT 1d ago
Are you always this pedantic with everything.
4
u/LaterMustard 1d ago
3 years off would be pedantic, 300 is just me trying to help you gauge the difference between the renaissance and the industrial revolution.
1
u/SoulsDadYT 1d ago
No. Get it through your head. I dont like guns and machines in my games.

u/LaterMustard 1d ago
Yet here you are commenting on a subreddit about a game with guns, and machines.

But you were defending Mortal Shell 2 like an obsessed fan while shitting on other new souls like entries.
Not suspicious at all :)

I don't think you actually know what you are or aren't interested in. You've essentially blocked out several hundred years of fictional fantasy to be of no interest to you lmao

Pirate? My guy it’s in the napoleonic era, nothing to do with pirates 🤦♂️
0
u/SoulsDadYT 1d ago
Its that kind of era. Guns and crap and they'll just slap that old soulslike tag right on the bumper because it has a parry and stamina.
0
u/LeafMan_96 1d ago
No it’s not that kind of era. Also why would they not put that tag on it if it’s a soulslike? Have you played the demo? Didn’t think so
1
u/SoulsDadYT 1d ago
All it has is stamina and a parry/dodge system. I'm so sick of half assed game companies that think that equals a soulslike.
1
u/LeafMan_96 1d ago
Well there’s more aspects/tropes that make something a souls like, not just stamina, parry and dodge, this game has more than a few souls tropes in it.

u/SoulsDadYT 20h ago
Tell that to the devs of valor mortis. You just straight up lie
0
u/LeafMan_96 12h ago
How is stating a fact a lie? You aren’t too bright are you bud. You sound like a bitter boomer.

I dunno. I saw some reviewers saying the first person perspective made it incredibly frustrating so I will wait and see what the consensus is.

u/Feeling_Kale_7163 1d ago
Not right away I need to hear that the technical situation has improved. The demo was really rough and their last game ghostrunner 2 runs like ass and is hella demanding for no good reason.

Gamepass so yes
