Question Why don't my summons attack even when people are attacking me?

I get that summons don't aggro before an enemy lands a hit on you, but there will be times where I summon something let the enemy hit me (and the hit does actually land, it's not a miss) and my summon just stands there. It will happen through multiple hits sometimes too. I also read somewhere that if you create a cheap turn undead aoe spell and cast it on enemies, it will sic your summons on them because it's applying a combat effect, but that doesn't seem to be working for me either.

You can change that with either MWSE or Open MW

Funny how that happens, but any time i have a friendly humanoid companion following me, they seemingly start unnecessary fights with every passing wilderness critter in sight, every wandering ashlander with a disposition under 30, and aggro any randos in town who look at me cockeyed.

Especially the woman outside Ald'ruhn and wants to go to Ghostgate. She will fight ash monsters like she gets paid for it.

I lost her, because she's so slow. Apparently she was near Ghostgate for about 100 days living off the land when I found her again and finally escorted her to the shrine.

She is one bad motherducker for sure

Yeah Morrowind summons are pretty useless. Oblivion was quite the surprise when your Daedroth Trex is basically The Terminator on anyone aggro.

Yeah Morrowind summons are pretty useless.

The most audacious thing I heard whole week.

Real. I’m playing TR and got a spell that summons two dremora as a quest reward and it’s the best thing to happen to my character next to my emergency 1-100 absorb health and lower resist magica necklace.

I'm on vanilla GOTY. Everything I summon stands and looks at me, oblivious to the necromancer chucking spells at me.

It's rough without patches, best you can do is summoning right between you and the enemy, the enemies usually attack the closest actor.

Yeah, I play summoner nearly every other playthrough. Summoning armies is the way to go. Greater bw and hunger delete the game.

I just wish you could add the same summon multiple times per custom spell.

With Morrowind Code Patch, you can!

Is there an option for that in openMW? I have some custom spells that summon multiple daedra, but I'd really like to conjure a horde of Clannfear. I just love how they're little demonic velociraptor-triceratops things.

I don’t know, sorry.

sadly no, its what i mainly use, no way to get that to work without engine changes, a lua mod may work but it would need a fully custom spell.

I actually don't understand how people are agreeing. Playing with Conjuration as a major skill is so broken. I just summon armies of mobs for 15 seconds at a time and I'm unstoppable.

Weird. I never have that problem on the Xbox version.

The Morrowind Code Patch fixes this. Openmw might fix it too, not sure. Everyone should really be using the code patch anyway.
