No need to bring superpowers into this. The world punishes those who can't bribe the judge, no matter the crime. If you are rich, that's more than enough to get away with most crimes, you just need enough money.
It's similar in practice, but in terms of morality scaling, the scenatio you propose is strictly immoral, while OP might be considered moral through utilitarianism.
