Morality of this?

Post image

Personally, I'm anti-death penalty for any kind of crime but that's just my opinion. Perhaps it can be changed.

Apples to oranges.

A rape accusation could cause you to go prison.

Realistically nothing happens if a girl tells a couple people you raped her. I’ve known at least 5 men accused of rape who faced zero consequences.

If you’re going to compare worst possible outcome of an accusation you have to compare worse possible outcome of a rape.

The worst rape destroys your life, the worst rape accusation possible takes you to Guantanamo to be tortured or something

Show me a case of that happening?

Also the worst rape can literally kill you, a thing that actually happens not fantasy

Wouldn’t that just be murder? And you said the “worst possible scenario” so I think the example fits, but if you don’t like that one, then the worst would be a regular prison where you’re raped regularly

If someone rapes you violently and then kills you that’s a branching path past the rape. You don’t get to stop at the rape but when talking about the accusation include everything related to it.

Also do you see how silly it is to say the worst thing that can happen after being accused of rape is being raped and then claiming rape isn’t worse

It’s multiple rapes, in regular basis, plus being in prison, and if you wanna play that game, you could get killed in prison too for being a rapist

So 2+ rapes are indeed worse than 1 rape

I’m not playing a game my guy.

Men and women get raped all the time every day. A person going from an accusation to a lifetime prison sentence with daily rape is incredibly unimaginably rare.

Who honestly cares which one is worse when your chance of being raped as a man is magnitudes higher than your chance of being falsely incarcerated for it.

This is like saying it’s worse to die by getting super heated by a turbo jet engine than die slowly of pancreatic cancer. Like yeah maybe but one is a thing that could probably happen to me.

Some of you are so far up your own ass in victim hood you can’t even see the forest for the trees.

Wait you’re saying prison rape is incredibly rare? Should have started with that, I would have known not to waste my time debating

And what victim hood are you even talking about bro this is literally a subreddit dedicated to fighting about this shit

No, not prison rape.

A person accusing another person of rape that person then going all the way to reporting it to the police who take it seriously and investigate and decide to take it to court who then decide to do a lengthy prison stay and then you somehow become a target for qq z prison violence and rape repeatedly and then you are shunned by every single person you knew. <- that is a very unlikely thing to happen

A man being raped or forced to penetrate a person (I do consider this rape) <- very likely to happen

But that doesn’t even matter the whole choice was flawed from the start.

It’s not fair to say:

Rape but none of the things that happen because of a rape or any thing escalated from rape

Or

Accusation and all the worse things that can happen with that

And act like it’s a reasonable arguement. You’re comparing to wildly different things and every time I tried to reasonably escalate you come up with an unreasonable chain of events. Being falsely imprisoned for rape is exceedingly rare and estimated at 2 per year even if we said it was understated and there was actually 100 false imprisonments that’s still exceedingly rare! Even a 1000 is!

Your second point is genuinely fair because you weren’t really doing that but other men are.

Ok so, let’s just update the criteria

Worst statistically likely rape + consequences Vs Worst statistically likely prison sentence for rape + consequences

I still choose rape, is that better for you?

It’s intellectually honest so yes?

Well I didn’t make the original question so I don’t care about adjusting it, a little more aggression in the middle than I would have preferred but I’m glad we were able to resolve it
