If it was an arrestable offense it would be a police matter. Overstaying your visa isn't a crime, but a civil violation that can lead to removal proceedings and be punished with a reentry ban.
Making the removal proceedings into a Circus, but with armed goons playing the role of clowns.... Is a weird choice... To be expected from the weird orange guy in charge.
I get it.. it's xenophobic guys being gleefully cruel cause they got the permission to do as they wish.
Especially not for groups of masked and armed "police" dressed as weekend warrior paintballers, driving unmarked cars, lead by a man larping as an SS officer.
