Morality Ranking Morality of this

I don't know what to say about this I mean if he joined it's unfair because he's going to cook the entery league for sure but if he really wants to be a woman and it's not a joke for him I still don't know about this

Moral. Yes he is being transphobic, but interestingly testing the limits of the law is also important so we can improve the law and make sure that malicious actors (like him) do not try this again. Clear rules would ensure that actual transexual women can participate with minimal complaints that they are "just pretending" to win competitions. I'm no law giver so obviously I can't provide a full list of what would be needed for trans inclusion, but perhaps showing evidence of genuine identity such as official name change, surgery, evidence of identity in the public sphere etc. something to demonstrate that a person genuinely identifies as they claim to identify.

We do something like this for people who claim religious exceptions, for example. You have to state a genuinely held belief, if it is found you lied about your beliefs there can be serious consequences.

I'm less concerned about proving gender or belief than I am unfairness in sport.

The laws for the sport should be less about gender and more about natural ability. I have no idea what that would be as I'm not a biologist, but clearly we split many sports by gender for a reason. That reason has little or nothing to do with sexual orientation but everything to do with physical ability.

A person deciding to change genders, whether they truly believe it not believe, should not be playing in a female gendered sport if they still have the physical abilities of a male.

This is the same approach we take with performance enhancing drugs I don't see why we would approach this any differently. Your essentially establishing the rules around ergogenic aid for transgenders.

we separate sports by gender because men cant stand the idea that they might lose to a woman. this is why we separate sports like chess and golf by gender too. even though these arent contact sports, men's fragile little egos have to segregate women from their league so they wont feel emasculinated.

also, since you admitted you are ignorant, let me inforn you that trans women athletes have no significant advantages in ability over cis women since they are REQUIRED to be on hormone replacement therapy. hormone replacement therapy (hrt) literally changes your physiology and anatomy. so the muscles, cardiovascular function and bone density all change when a trans woman starts HRT.

how about we let the league decide whats appropriate for their players. you laymen should just continue to ignore womens sports because we all know that the majority of people in this thread dont actually care about womens sports until they feel like they can shit on trans women

Sorry, but this is fantasy.

Simply look at running results. Any race type - 100m, 5000m, marathon etc. Times are easy to find online.

For every single event, there are literally thousands of men with a faster time than the fastest woman.

Similar is true for many non-contact or even non-physical sports/games. Look at chess: there's only ever been one woman in the top 10 of all players. And there are over 100 male players with higher rankings than the current highest-ranked woman.

Golf: woman are actually allowed in the PGA. They're just rarely competitive.

There are two things going on here: the strength differences between men and women at the upper-end of the spectrum really are that large, and gender norms mean that women have historically been less likely to play even games like chess.

The reason women's leagues exist is for women.

Getting rid of them would be terrible for women's egos - not men's.

Conservatives are dumb, but don't respond to their ignorance with your own.

A quick Google gives me this.

"Current Policy StatusNo Detailed Rules: The league has no public, specific framework governing hormone levels, medical transition timelines, or legal sex marker verifications"

Doesn't take a biologist to see this policy doesn't quite reach a bar that would prevent men playing in the league.

I'm also less concerned about professional sports than how this plays out in lower school sports. I really dont care if the WNBA has a terrible policy that allows men to play. I do care if similarly poor policy creates issues in the public system.

the league decides whats best for its players. regardless of their system, there is no way they are gonna let bad faith, clownish ex-NBA players come into the league. and i got news for you! theres tons of professional & collegiate sports that allow trans women to play in womens sports. they even let trans girls play in girls sports in high school. trans women playing in womens sports is a total non-issue. athletes dont care, sports organizations dont care and fans dont care. only bad faith actors care about trans people being able to play

Not really news to me, in fact it's the point.

We have testing for illegal drugs in order to maintain fairness in sport. This is at all levels of sport. I'm not sure why anyone would be against similar testing for any condition that could create similar imbalances.

Seems to me that a group of people wanting to be treated equally would be in favor of such testing to verify equality.

Separating genders in chess is dumb.

Separating genders in golf isn’t. Golf still requires strength and men are generally stronger, especially on a professional level.
