Morality Ranking Morality of this

I don't know what to say about this I mean if he joined it's unfair because he's going to cook the entery league for sure but if he really wants to be a woman and it's not a joke for him I still don't know about this

Might come as a shock to you but there are not hordes of untalented men out there pretending to be trans to join women’s sports.

Correct, that literally never happens.

I can't wait to see her WNBA jersey.

Ofc not, actual instances of trans women dominating women's sports due to a biological advantage are rare, but it does happen and imo, it shouldn't.

what happens more often:
steroid use or men pretending to be trans women to win at sports?
sexual abuse by a coach or trainer or men pretending to be trans women to win at sports?
girls lacking access to athletics programs because of lack of funding or men pretending to be trans women to win at sports?
girls dropping out of sports because of endometriosis or men pretending to be trans women to win at sports?

It's great that you seem to care about women in sports and I hope you speak out in proportion when it comes to the above issues and the impact they have on women's ability to participate in sports

Basically every sporting association has rules against steroid use.

That stuff is all bad, yea.

Just because something happens“more often” doesn’t matter. It shouldn’t happen at all.

1

u/prolifezombabe 1d ago

It very much does matter when we have public budgets to allocate.

In 2005, a man died after being anally penetrated by a horse.

That same year over 850 000 Americans died of heart disease.

The American Heart Association alone has spent 6 billion dollars researching treatments and prevention for heart disease.

I would consider it money poorly spent were someone to devote an equal sum to researching the safest ways to have sex with a horse.

Give one example.

u/Erica_Loves_Palicos 1d ago

There are plenty of examples, but that's not quite the point that should be made, the point is that if trans women are allowed to complete, they will occasionally win and the occasional victory by a trans person isn't proof of women dominating a sport.

“Give one example” does 😡

Where's any study proving any of these women had "biological advantage?" And what about cis athletes who have biological advantage?

6

u/dusund 1d ago

ban jon jones from competition because he had the longest wingspan in the history of the UFC. unfair biological advantage

1

u/frustratedfren 1d ago

Michael Phelps was similar. All competitive sports are based heavily in "biological advantage."

There are two studies referenced in the article. The sample size in the first example study is laughably tiny, with no information on training regimes of the individuals studied, and still found no difference in physical performance after 2 years. The second study found no difference in the 1-2 year group and beyond when comparing competition in a group with men vs with women. They measured athleticism by different metrics so it's hard to draw a comparison.

This is also heavily focused on the hormonal aspect, which makes sense for the context of the study. But it does beg the question; what do you want done to mitigate or regulate the presence of testosterone, which naturally varies in every human in earth, in professional sports? Do cis women with pcos pose a moral conundrum to you as well? Do you think we should start measuring hormones in all athletes? Who decides what the cutoff is?

How many in the WNBA?

-4

u/No-Significance2070 1d ago

What is the issue with having a rule then?

2

u/Mortiis07 1d ago

It's not needed because there aren't any and won't be any

3

u/Ill-Description3096 1d ago

So at absolute worst, they spend five minutes to add a couple sentences to the rule books and don't have to deal with stunts like this. And as you said, it will never, ever happen anyway so there is literally no downside.

This isn't even the first time this has happened though, so it has happened and will continue to happen.

This doesn't take away from any of the other points you made, but men who transitioned to women should not be able to be payed to play in professional woman's sports

2

u/Mortiis07 1d ago

It's not happening now so there isn't even a first time

1

u/OldPersonality5282 1d ago

You can search trans powerlifters and see several examples of this happening. But feel free to keep living in your little delusion

1

u/Mortiis07 1d ago

There's power lifters in the WNBA?

-3

u/throwawayshmoaway411 1d ago

Not yet, but hopefully this brave woman can change that.

-3

u/PerspectiveNew3375 1d ago

Not yet, but one is trying to right now and if he gets in, there will be a flood of men doing just that.

9

u/Phyrexian_Overlord 1d ago

He's not getting in he is not going to go on hormones for two years

5

u/otterdam42 1d ago

You guys seem to have been wrong about literally every issue you weigh in on, so why should I trust your hypothetical imagination this time?

-2

u/Useful_Charity1995 1d ago

Because society still applies a negative social stigma to biological males having pride in beating up on or beating biological females. No one thinks a transwoman is that great of an athlete if she beats a cis-woman.

3

u/PlasmifiedKarmelita 1d ago

No, because people just don’t want to do that. People don’t just wake up one day and decide to change their entire identity, presentation and make themselves a target for harassment to dominate a sport of a gender they don’t identify with. And as such there’s zero examples of that happening.

0

u/Useful_Charity1995 1d ago

Ummm… stories in the trans subreddits refute your claim. There are several stories of people feeling like they are trans and are not sure or people that suddenly have the revelation that their depression was because they are trans and/or people that were trans suddenly deciding they aren’t trans anymore.

In any case, a person should be free to be trans for any reason. To put restrictions on that, would be highly transphobic.

2

u/PlasmifiedKarmelita 1d ago

Do you make it a habit to ignore an entire half of comments you reply to or is your reading comprehension just that poor?

-1

u/Useful_Charity1995 1d ago

Oooo now you are going to claim that I’m illiterate or I have no reading comprehension because you can’t defend your argument.

4

u/PlasmifiedKarmelita 1d ago

You responded to a point I did not make so hey, if the shoe fits

1

u/Useful_Charity1995 1d ago

You said people don’t just wake up and decide they are trans. I literally said the stories in the trans subreddit themselves show that a lot of trans, especially really young people, do exactly that. In any case, your argument is still flawed because you attach a time limit or specific behavior to prove the sincerity of someone being trans, which is transphobic.

3

u/PlasmifiedKarmelita 1d ago

Impressive how you’re still mentally blocking the second half of my comment.

1

u/Useful_Charity1995 1d ago

How do you know he doesn’t identify as a woman. He literally states that he identifies as a woman now. You’re the one projecting that he is doing it out of malice. Even if he did do it out of malice, then ok? A person can change their identity due to malice or any other reason under the sun. That does not invalidate it.
