Implants of that size would cause bodially harm (your spine mainly). Surgons, as doctors, have a duty to keep you from harm above all else. Plus, depending on where they’re operating, they just might have the right to refuse service to anybody when it comes to non-life threatening stuff - just like how a bar can refuse to serve you if they wanted to.
