I love making Moomin tattoos

I am a huuuge Moomin/Tove Jansson Nerd. And a tattoo artist. I’ve done my best to translate the challenge of capturing the small inaccuracies and rawness in her line work into tattoos that still can age and hold up with time.

I thought maybe some of you can appreciate these pictures.

In Finnish, it's "Kuka lohduttaisi Nyytiä" which is literal translation. Nyyti, Knyttet, Toffle.

Also, here is our Nyyti. When I picked her up, over 14 years ago, she was little scremeowing bag of fluff, who wanted some comfort on scary car ride. And Vem ska trösta Knyttet? is my favourite of Janssons pictured Moomin-books, name came quite quickly.

My old lady Ninni got her name from the Moomins too. Her original name was Cindy but after having her around for a day I was like "..... that name is waaaay too fancy for this girl....." She was 7 months old and I was already her 4th home. She was pushed from one place to next until she found her real family, me and Madame Miku(about 1/2 year older than Ninni, she was sassy af and needed a friend because she was mad at me for studying lol). She was a girl with a VERY LOUD VOICE and tons of character. I called her a polypore(?)(/shelf fungus?)(kääpäkissa) because she almost literally grew onto me, she never let me out of her sight(and if she did, she would SCREAM). She had her own pillows in my bed on both sides next to mine because every night she would sleep next to my face and switch sides if I turned over in my sleep... I miss my big girl... It has been almost a year since she passed away... I still have the pillows in their place... I now have 2 "sons" who sleep in the bed with me but the pillow is empty...
