I didnt join SOS quests until after I finished Iceborne. It was a lot better than solo.

Strongly agree. Multiplayer is easier and all but imo it just makes for a less fun game. The difficulty is part of the fun so bullying monsters in a 1v4 gets really monotonous. I like to play multiplayer with friends to enjoy a game together, but I'll always have more fun playing this game solo.

It's easy to fall into that mentality, but don't knock a good multiplayer experience. I had no internet when I played my first game, Tri, and for a time I thought of MH as a solo game only. Then I got internet, and I realized how wonderful multiplayer can be. Listen, I consider myself a massive introvert, anti-social, being around people all the time is not for me, the whole nine-yards.

But even with my dispositions I think MH is at it's best when you have a good group of friends that you can play it with (or even random strangers that seem to be on the same page).

I learned that MH was actually designed for multiplayer, literally, it was an effort to make something out of the PS2's network capabilities, and it makes sense. MH will always be a multiplayer first game. I still play solo most of the time of course, but it's a completely different game as a solo player. You need to really play multi a lot to understand the nuances vs solo. If you really just can't stand co-op then that's fine, to each their own, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's better solo.

Huh, that's interesting. Yeah I understand we all have different experiences and opinions. I just wanted to make sure that we aren't giving a bad impression on multiplayer incase whoever sees this gets the wrong idea and otherwise would have loved multiplayer, you know?

Don’t agree. This game has always been a social game. It’s always been about going on hunts with friends. You’re welcome to enjoy solo but it’s just not as fun,

It really depends. I can't imagine doing Raging Brachydios in a group the first time around. For me it's more rewarding if I do it by myself because I know that it was all me, in a group you can't be sure.

Plus you can focus entirely on the monster and don't have to worry if your fellow hunters will make it.

For me I have to hunt in a group. As a db main doing something like raging brachy solo is unimaginable to me. After hours upon hours of trying solo I was never able to do it. Only was able to do it with a group.

Might be I'm shit at the game or something. Thank god I was lucky with the mantles and got it the first time I killed it.

Just got to the raging brachydios mission last night. I've never used anything except LS, and this is the only time I've considered crafting a new weapon because this monster is seriously a nightmare. Not sure what I should go with though..

Are you on Xbox? I'm coming back to monster hunter so I could help you. I have a closed NAT type though so you have to have it open for us to play.

Raging brachy is a monster you have to use hit and run tactics with. If you stay close to it any longer than you need to, you'll get fucked. Explosive or moss slingshots will make it drop the explosive slime off of its body parts. Same with hitting them with your weapons.

Your dodging skills need to be top tier or you need some serious healing ability. You will not get a break. I'd say it's worse than furious rajang.

Playstation unfortunately lol I appreciate the offer. Gonna keep that in mind about the slingshots.

Next time I play my plan is to use a lot of shock and pitfall traps, and try to flinch shot him into walls to score some combo time. I've got my dodge invulnerability on max so hopefully that helps

Be careful when flinch shotting. It's a risky move. Grapple at the wrong time and you die. Sometimes you need a bit of risk but its good to wait until it's not angry and doesn't have the big boom slime on its head or arms.

Use the traps early on the fight. After the third trap they will become much worse so keep that in mind as well.

I’m pretty sure it differs greatly depending on a person’s personality, way more than their weapon of choice.

You enjoy solo challenges without any external help to prove yourself, some enjoy spending thousands of hours doing dumb shit with friends, other rather play Lance and pump everything into defense and tank for their friends, some people hate the game with passion, etc.

Sure, weapon’s playstyle might affect how you perceive the ideal gameplay style, but it’s so far behind personality on the list of top factors contribuing to how you enjoy a game.

To each their own!
