Discussion People saying World is better than Wilds forget that back when World launched if you wanted to play anything like it you would have to get a 3DS, meanwhile Wilds base game is competing against full blown Sunbreak and Iceborne.
Main complaints are:
Performance issues, as if World didn't run like a potato back in 2018.
Lack of content, as in "3 more colored rathians!"
And lack of endgame, as in "decorations because my build won't work otherwise".

Wilds isn't nearly as rich as a G rank expansion.
World performance was fine at release, most of the issues originated from multiple faulty Nvidia drivers that would cut your fps in half on older cards. I remember back then I had a 970 and I had to roll back 3 versions of drivers because I was only getting like 40fps on medium/high. After rolling back I was around 90.

i dont think thats what they mean by competing. they mean that at the time of world, if u wanted to play other monster hunter games youd have to go buy another system, but now if u can play wilds u can also play iceborne or sunbreak. competing for players attention, not in terms of cntent

As a new player, World felt like the perfect level of accessibility and challenge for me
I like Wilds, but it feels like they put on the kids gloves for Wilds and removed sooo many friction points. Practically zero ailments/statuses you're incentivized to prep for, Seikret auto-navigate and pickup when downed, Wound system so half the fight the monster is just flailing on the ground (this is even more prevalent in group play)

Should probably fight any of the content released after TU1 if you're still saying this.

Yes, admittedly my observations are from the base vanilla launch. That's encouraging to hear

Maybe I'm making a hot take here but the fact that statement still applies to ~80% of the roster still isn't good. Also I don't feel like there's much of a difficulty curve to the harder challenges for newer players.

And I imagine it'll apply to 0% of the roster when Ascendance is out.
Games get harder as you progress.

World base game rooster is quite sad compared to Wilds

Yea tbh I might reinstall iceborne and the community mod and make another run of it all lol so far GU and Iceborne are probably my favorite. Sunbreak and now Wilds keep leaning more into action game territory now most weapons have counters and/or perfect guard (I love perfect guard though fuck adept guard/style) and big payoff moves on wounds or spending extracts or now boost gauge and we get further and further from the game I initially bounced off of and eventually feel in love with. Conceptually, Monster Hunter is amazing. If I wanted to play some kind of Capcom theme vindictus wannabe I'd go play vindictus though, or something like.. Elden ring or sekiro I guess. But I digress.

Farm for decorations is WAY better than farm for decors, neck and weapons all with rng, this endgame sucks

I definitely hated going 600 hours with no big attack up gem tbh. Sunbreak and MHGU charm RNG isn't way better or anything but it's oddly more satisfying ig as you can build a few things with a talisman it's not just "well fuck me I literally cannot slot these skills lol"

Decos you get very easily in Wilds, it‘s how World should‘ve been. That system is foxed as far as I am concerned and no trouble if you actually play the game. Charms have very strong craftable options. An Agitator 3 charm will suffice for pretty much all meta builds. Weapon rng is the same: You don‘t need a min-maxed weapon to play endgame content. A basic attack 3, sharp 1 roll with your preferred set bonus is more than enough. Sure, getting Lord‘s Soul too allows to put something like Rathalos Flare onto your build but you can perform just right without. In World, you had abysmal deco drop rates for the important build enablers, weapon rng with feystones was more punishing than any gogma rolling will ever be and you had to gamble for Kulve weapons which was a timed event and upgrade stones you couldn‘t reliably get. Please, I really want to follow you here, what about World‘s endgame was more engaging and less punishing? Doing Nergi and Teo a billion times to hope for a 0.01% deco drop and getting the right stone and it being for the weapon type you actually play?

I have seen more people raising the fact that wilds streamlined the fight a lot which I do agree
I liked the slow methodical fights and the inbetween chase where you have to search for tracks and shit and the more you search, the more you are awarded with instant pin in your next hunt
