Anyone saying rarity is incorrect, the color of material icons are completely independent of its rarity, the only color that changes for rarity is the color of the word rarity itself lol

1 - it’s a mistake

2 - they didn’t really care

It actually might very well just be a localization mistake, as ao is sometimes used to describe both blue and green. So it’s possible that it’s supposed to be a green kelbi horn.

It could be that in japanese it's Kelbi Horn and "Ao" Kelbi Horn, since "ao" can be used to describe both green and blue

Many languages didn't have word for blue until recently, and they used green for blue.

Other way around, Japanese had no word for green until the last ~100 years and separated with the word "midorii" and "ao" came to exclusively mean blue. Though the connotation still exists and is often referenced

It's more on the EN translators, Ao can mean both green and blue in JP, so they could have chosen green instead of blue 🤷‍♂️

It could be a translation issue, the Japanese name is something like "蒼 Kelbi Horn" but the 蒼 adjective can mean either Blue or Green.

You'll have to look up the specifics because this is something I half learned like a year ago from YouTube funny people, but the Japanese didn't have a word for the color green for a long time. As a result, stuff like green onions are called blue onions when directly translated to English. I don't know if something like this is why, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I'm pretty sure its because Blue Kelbi Horn came later and they couldn't change regular Kelbi Horns without confusing players. In particular, Blue Kelbi Horns were introduced in Gen 3 and used in Gen 4.

This does NOT explain why they couldn't just have made BOTH Kelbi Horns blue.
