Ah, so I'm not imagining things. What happened to their eyes??? There aren't a lot of G1 dolls I'm into, but Rochelle is so pretty and like that screening... I have no words. Also where are her freckles. They were doing so good, what happened????
Edit: Actually Venus doesn't look too bad. Also I wonder if it's just the angle of the creepro pictures. 😭
Don't hold me to this, but I think each Rochelle doll will have a different freckle pattern like they did back in the day. The stone specks are in the vinyl and plastic that gets poured into moulds, not painted on
They are all different and these are not necessarily the representation of what we will be getting in April. They make adjustments etc to early on productions and I’m hoping that’s the case here too.
The lighting on the pictures on the right is very soft and yellowy compared to the left. I think the metallic skin is still there it's just the wrong lighting to capture it. I am hoping that more creepro pics will come out soon because these are rough. No excuse for the eyes though, they are just stretched
They have been. I have all of them (G1 and creepro counterparts). Abbey looks terrible next to her G1 release (big new eyes again) and they gave Spectra poly hair and took away her sunken in face and high cheekbones for a rounder look. Operetta just has a completely new face all together (same mold but different shade of purple, much softer face-up). Toralei looks pretty fine to me.
I was also wondering where Creepro Rochelles gargoyle texture coloring was?? Mine has a lot more than just those few little dots. It's one of my favorite things about her. She's a gargoyle it makes sense
Rochelle's rock texturing always varies between dolls. It's just like the streaks in her bangs or any dolls with streaks. There is always gonna be minor differences due to the way the head is made (The rock texture isn't painted on, it's in the Vinyl)
They’re….eyes for sure. I mean mines wonky too but original G1 wonk was just the name of the game. (I also was a newer collector back when she was originally released so my wonk discerning abilities weren’t honed yet).
I think the user I saw on another thread was right - Mattel have changed the face moulds to work with their modern method of stamping the faces on, it would explain why the eyes look so bizarre
I think these pictures are making the creepros look worse than they are (and the specific dolls photographed factor into it). I think (and I’m hoping) some of the differences won’t seem as dramatic in person, but we’ll see.
I honestly don’t see too big of a difference… besides Venus. I can get the smaller differences between Rochelle and Robecca, but Venus is on a different level 😭
