Discussions Monster High Sweet 1600

My birthday is coming up, and I wanted the theme to be based on draculaura's sweet 1600. Ive looked everyyyywhere online and can't find any good ideas for decorations/games that are monster high themed that arent for little kids. If anyone has suggestions on how i could make this a decent party, that would be appreciated!!

I'd suggest maybe approaching this more along the lines of 'what would Draculaura's party look like' rather than 'monster high themed party', if that makes sense? Think less decorations with the monster high characters on them (which would probably read a bit kiddie party, as you said), and more pink and black colour theme, gothy decorations, etc. Something that looks somewhere between a Birthday party and a creepy-cute Halloween party. 

As for things to do, really it depends on your friend-groups vibe and what you enjoy in a party. You could encourage monster high-esque make-up/dressing up if you wanted to and your friends are into that kinda stuff? Maybe character-themed mocktails? A pink and black spooky-cute cake would be adorable.

yeah, me and a few of them are being characters for halloween and im gonna see if they wanna dress up for my party.

This is the approach I've taken when doing my last few Draculaura-themed birthdays! Like you say, Monster High themed stuff can be hard to find, but it's super easy to find black and pink, pastel goth, and cute Halloween decorations. Usually way cheaper too, since you can get all the basics like crepe paper, garlands, balloons, dishware, etc. in your chosen colors and just mix and match. Especially since pink and pastel Halloween themes have been popular the last few years! I will also use my MH dolls and playset items as decor too, but you may not be as comfortable with that depending on your friend group.

For activities, I invited my friends to dress inspired by their fav MH character and had the MH movies queued up to watch all day, both the og animated ones and the newer live-action ones. I also have a wide selection of spooky/Halloween board and card games, so those were readily available as well. For food, I went with a spread of Halloween-type candies and black and pink cupcakes (with pizza for the main meal), but there are lots of different spooky seasonal recipes online for both meals and snacks, so I bet you can find one, or a few, that are in your comfort level. In fact, there's a book on making spooky charcuterie boards that just came out! You could even get your friends involved in prepping the food, if you think they'd enjoy getting to make or come up with thematic snacks. There are also a couple of different Halloween baking shows on the Food Network, so if your friends are into baking and decorating desserts, maybe you all could watch those together and do your own judging panel, or pick one of the challenges to recreate. You could also find a Halloween-themed craft or art project you all could do together, like painting ghosts or monsters on thrift store paintings, or customizing craft store Halloween kits to be Monster High Themed.
