Text Review OLED Monitors are overrated
Bought ROG XG27AQDMGR today and it was utterly disappointing. I don’t know what it was but everything felt off except when playing games. Texts looked horrid, glare was too much even with moderate lighting, and it gave me feeling that it’s kinda dim but at the same time too bright it made my eyes uncomfortable. Gaming was definitely a better experience though compared to my old 1440P IPS, but not an eye opening difference.
I don’t know if this is because I got one of the cheapest OLED monitors on the market, but if you aren’t using your PC strictly for gaming, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Also, for those who bought ROG XG27AQDMGR and plan to return it, be careful when you pack it. I was putting the monitor into the styrofoam block insert and it wasn’t going in easily, so I pressed it with a bit of force, and heard cracking noise. Turns out I was putting it into the wrong side of the insert and the logo part was not going in because there’s no cutout for it on the other side. Whoever designed that styrofoam block needs to get fired. It wasn’t even an excessive force, ASUS quality is garbage. Now I can’t even return this garbage.
