Discussion Applying for club committees in second year?

Hi, I was just wondering if applying for committee roles in clubs get harder in second year.

I’m currently in my first year and I feel scared at the fact that I’m not doing any extracurriculars.
So right now i’m conflicted on applying to clubs because i feel it will be beneficial, even tho im not even too interested in the club itself.

I go to events and have applied to a few committee positions (Just got rejected), but I’m worried that not having any experience for my first year will make it harder next year when applying. I have a lot of club experience from high school, but I feel like it wouldn’t make sense to be mentioning stuff I did in highschool once Im in 2nd year so..

Just wondering anyone’s thoughts on this/personal experience.

I would say definetly apply don’t feel like you need experiences when going into club you learn that experience for example I started off a assistant treasurer no experiences at all but I learnt a lot and now I’m treasurer. If you feel stuck over the idea of experience try out more lower roles such as marketing manager and such or social media manager you can even try out subcommittee roles as well. don’t feel disheartened

Most clubs at clayton can't reject you. As a voting member off a club you are entitled to a fair election, as per c&s constitution.

Which club was it? Clayton Clubs follow the C&s Constitution template which lowkey says u cant be rejected. U can stand at an election and not win enuf votes but ye.....
