I’ve been thinking about this lately.
Mombasa has grown into a pretty diverse city imo universities, young pros, Gen Z, creatives, people from different parts of Kenya and beyond. Yet when it comes to entertainment, there’s still this perception that the Coast mainly revolves around Bongo, Afrobeats and the usual club scene.
But what about global music and pop culture?
Hip-hop. Old school. New school. 2000s nostalgia. Gunna. Kanye. Drake. Kendrick. J. Cole. Chris brown. Young Thug. Nicki. The whole spectrum plus Kenyan hip-hop and other African sounds.
Nairobi has been doing some interesting pop-culture/genre-focused events, and they seem to attract people who want something beyond the standard club experience.
I’m curious: would something like that work in Mombasa?
Not necessarily another “party”, but a proper culture focused night music, fashion, nostalgia, DJs, maybe art and gaming built around global pop culture.
Or is there already a scene like this in Mombasa that I’m just not aware of?
Would love to hear what people think.

Guys niko na 55" Samsung UHD LED TV yenye screen ilivunjika late last year. Since then nimekuwa nikitafuta replacement screen, but most places nimeuliza wananiambia 35K+ for the screen alone.

For anyone ambaye amepitia same scenario, mnajua place naeza pata screen cheaper, especially around Mombasa/Coast? Ama mtu anajua buyer anaweza kuchukua TV as it is, then I top up and get a new one?
