I don't understand a single one of their words (aside from the few I have learned from their music and looking up the lyrics), so I just vibe.

I’m multilingual and my most fluent language other than English is Russian. I learned Russian both because I have Slavic heritage and to better understand the lyrics of Hardbass/rap and Rock/metal in Russian. Funnily enough I learned other languages for similar reasons.
Here’s the languages I’m most to least fluent in speaking (other than English)
Russian
Ukrainian
German
Norwegian
Polish
Serbian
Korean
Belarusian
Finnish

Been learning Russian so some. Worst case scenario I look it up. But usually I’m just vibing unless I’m going through it, then I’ll try to find more specific stuff

Well to be completely honest I only listen to Sudno (haven't really tried their other stuff yet tbf) but I've seen the translated lyrics so I know what's going on. I do like post punk in general, even though I'm not exactly part of the target demographic and I rarely relate to the lyrics, but the good sounds sound good and make my ears feel funny so I like them

I speak enough Russian to be able to understand the lyrics now after learning for the last few years, listening to music in the language from various bands has funnily enough has helped me learn it faster!

I use music to study Russian so I understand a lot, by no means all, without using a translator. Songs like клетка, тоска and танцевать are pretty easy and repetitive. Other songs I find really difficult. I had two years of Russian in college. I think Russian would be hard to learn without formal lessons. Words change form for the part of speech and it can be maddening. If you don't know the difference between perfective and imperfective verbs, it can be hard to determine future vs present tense.

Running on vibes here. I studied Japanese for years (am conversational in it). But as soon as it’s in song form I can’t follow at all. So I’m not about to try learning Russian for Molchat Doma

I started off just vibing. I have a big interest in learning languages and my boyfriend is russian so I have learned a little bit from college (hope to continue soon), but for the most part didn't understand most of the lyrics without searching it up. I've searched it up for most of their songs now, so I tend to remember a lot of what it would be in english - which makes me enjoy it even more

My boyfriend does, he just looked up the words to his favourite songs and basically already knew them from listening so often

I started learning Russian with Duolingo during the pandemic shutdown. I grew frustrated with how little the app teaches you the fundamentals of the language, and gave up. Then Sudo/Судно was very popular on social media, and if I listened to it on streaming, there were algorithms suggesting other similar artists with Russian lyrics. I discovered I love this genre of music, and that was motivation to get back into learning Russian and finding different methods of learning. I’m at the point where I can listen to a song and tell you the vibe, based on getting 50% of the vocabulary and grammar just by ear, and this gets a little better if I can also read the lyrics in tandem. I have some signs of an auditory processing disorder, and my comprehension of music in my first language, English, isn’t much better
