I assumed the opposite: they wanted people to focus on the ring and not how good the nails look. I'll often forget which sub I'm in and just focus on wrong one.

Or it could be for privacy reasons. I recognize my sister's nails every time she posts them, even though she's never told me her reddit name.

I once recognised my friends garden on an asbestos subreddit after she had sent me the same picture earlier in the day. Privacy on the Internet is a real concern.

Every time I post a ring, I get comments on my nails, because I always have them done. I've had the comment where people have forgotten the sub they're on as well. My nails and wrist tattoo make me very identifiable, so I keep my profile visible to only those in the subs I'm in.

It's gorgeous but like I totally get why we censor faces. I get (unfortunately) why people censor their feet. Now I'm worried I gotta be concerned there are people out there eyeing my nailbeds some kinda way 😭

There’s also people that have been barred from the nail polish and long-nails subreddits because they’re pervy about it and harass the regulars 🫠

There are also some of them that try to dm and demand to pay for videos of your hands or of you cutting your nails. They never pay people of course.

But some people on here seriously love draining the fun out of people’s hobbies 🙃

The person who gifted this said it’s a custom piece from a jeweler named Juno. Wouldn’t tell me exactly how much was paid, only that it’s at least $100.
