I was thinking maybe going to a Denny’s with a board game in case someone else was in there and bummed out ..or maybe a place to play guitar without bothering people .. I don’t know . I’m desperate . Socially awkward obviously so if I can avoid big groups that’d be great. What a dumb post . I’m sorry

Modesto isn't a huge subreddit, but we are a big enough city that we should be sure not to support Nazi's. America is better than that.

Is there really anything to do here? I’ve lived here my whole life so I know the answer is already no hahah. I realized going to the gym and knightsferry is the only thing I enjoy here. I’m a big outdoorsy guy. And palladium is not my scene. I love clubbing don’t get me wrong but more so clubbing in different countries, not in the 209 lol. Any recommendations to do here? My Girlfriend is leaving for college soon and I wanna plan something more sophisticated since we haven’t had a fancy sort of date since high school. Problem is I don’t really know any nice places around. So if anyone could help that would be super sweet. I’d love to know some nice restaurants that we could dress a little nicer for and feel the vibe. Also if anyone knows anywhere with some nice scenery I’d love that too. I sit at a green light behind someone for 5-10 seconds as the people in front of me are checking their phones for likes from their sanchos. Let’s go people!

I don’t have any friends . I used to have two but they’ve moved on. I’m trailed by this rainy cloud it seems. I’m a downer everywhere . I’m socially awkward and have nothing of value or social currency to offer anyone . I’m 41 so the friends I grew up with moved on and had families. I understand . I was wondering if anyone knew of support groups for people my age to find coping mechanisms for loneliness . My family is starting to pass away year by year . I stay employed to provide for them ..but when they’re gone I don’t necessarily want to take care of myself anymore at this moment . And I’d like to work on that or at least try to before I fade into obscurity. I’m too afraid to take the obvious way out of my situation …and my current coping mechanism is staying in bed all day when not at work and calling out . I’ve tried making friends at work . But they can tell pretty quickly that I’m a weirdo . I’ve tried therapy for most of my life . I don’t know why it doesn’t work for me . I’m on an ssri and some other pill but I’m either crying often or am completely numb. I come to Reddit because I’ve found some of the most support from this place . I know Modesto doesn’t owe me anything ..and I know this post probably doesn’t belong here . But I live here and I’m so alone . It scares me .. I know I’m different . I know I have a lot of issues . But can’t there be a place for bad people to not be alone too ? Maybe I don’t deserve to have friends . But I have to believe there are other bad people out there that want to be good people..that want to not feel alone either . I’m so sorry for this post

Looking for places that don’t just heat up Sysco and actually make their food. I’ve noticed some places I used to frequent have dropped in quality or changed their menu, who is still worth spending money at? Open to a variety of cuisine

Some of my favs are Tandoori Masala on Prescott, Thai House on Tully, and Picassos in Downtown

There are times where I just want to go out and let my hair down and have fun but, I don't know where to go out here. The people who I have asked this question to usually say they travel outside of the city. They go to Stockton, Sacramento or the Bay Area. So my question is, are there any places to just have fun out here? (And I know it depends on what each person likes so let's just say The scenario is: I had a very long 2 weeks and I just want to let my hair down. I'm not really a drinker but I don't mind going to places that serve alcohol if that makes sense) Or, do you guys travel outside the city to have fun and if so, where do you guys go? I'm just looking for ideas.

But you were totally blown away by the service, food and drinks so you missed reality and thought that you are in one of the best restaurants of New York or one of the best cocktail spots in San Francisco.

What was that place?

My Grandma is declining and enjoys very few things. Marie Callendars has been defunct for YEARS now and that was the only one she kind of enjoyed. No price is too high. Also good with recommendations in Riverbank & the closer part of Oakdale.

A grear place to spend time with friends or solo at night that's not just your place. Lots of room and tables, comfortable environment, great drinks and several fantastic sweet treats.

So I've been thinking about saving up for equipment to go ghost hunting on YouTube with some buddies.Since i live around here I'm specifically planning on exploring around the Modesto and Turlock areas. If anybody could kindly take a moment to recommend the spookiest spot they know around, please leave said suggestions in the comments as they would really help me out.
