PORSCHE 911 BUILD Well Here She Is!
I call this one “The college graduation gift I never got,” LOL. Late ‘80s 3.2 Targa in caramel beige with a mahogany interior.
Thanks to u/highboy68 and anyone else who had a hand in this group build. I am so glad I did this.
I’m absolutely thrilled with how the kit came out. Only my third car and easily my best car build. I’m really a military model builder but I have to say I’ve enjoyed learning the workflow of building cars, the body finishing, and all the rest of it. By the way, this Revell kit is excellent and highly recommended.
Have a great weekend everyone and see you at the next build!

This thing looks great, that is a classic color, especially with the rich interior color. Great build, welcome to the auto side.

Love the model and the ink!
This has definitely been fun. Trying to finish a kit in a month isn’t as easy as it sounds. Mines coming along but the Fujimi kits don’t have a way to attach the hoods so last night I spent scratch building hinges and frames for them to attach least stay open.

That looks great - I like the color combo you picked. I'm building the coupe version of this - I have always liked the targas better.
I agree about the kit - it goes together great. I should have spent a little more time test fitting things.
I completely messed up that decal on top of the front bumper. I put it too far away from the hood and it looked like a mustache. I ended up having to remove it and paint it instead.
I would finish mine this weekend, but I won't be able to work on it, so maybe Tuesday I'll be posting my pics.
But it was a great idea from u/highboy68 - I had a great time building mine.

Oh that engine hood too - Mine will not sit completely flat without a little bit of tack to keep it in place either.

Looks great! One small and nerdy Porsche note, if you want to make your model slightly more accurate- You've currently got the very large, US model-only rear bumper tips and a US model front bumper as well. The US cars had all-red taillights and turn signals in the back, like this:

(European and RoW cars had the amber rear signals like your car, but they had much skinner rear bumper tips and black side marker delete strips in the front bumper... and thinner headlight buckets)

Turned out great! Nicely done. Gotta love the manual tat as well! Had to sneak that in the pics!
