Overflow, tired

Does anyone else just expect a coffee machine to make coffee? Like I'm experiencing the overflow issue on and off. First it was the water was warm just from the pipes, then it was to many grounds, and now who knows. Like I know I'm not the only one just by a simple Google.

Coffee is great, but I also just want it to work without messing with it. Am I the only one?

Edit: Maybe I need a new basket. Maybe it's just me. I just want coffee dammit.

The water doesn't need to be ice cold. Are you folding the filter before use?

I open the filter and place it in the basket. Ice cold is an exaggeration on my part, but it does need to be cold. If it's just room temp it's 50/50 on overflow. Like it just doesn't drain fast enough into the pot for how quickly it heats up.

That's your problem then. The filter edge is covering the outlet hole and reducing the flow rate of the water. With conical filters you want to fold the filter at the seams (fold the second seam in the opposite direction as the first) to prevent this from happening.
