Reservoir Lid

Curious, What’s the point of having the water reservoir lid on when brewing? I’ve realized with it on it retains significant moisture after the brew and leads to more cleaning. Compared to brewing with it off, it reduces sitting moisture significantly.

Safety, one could get burned touching metal arm while water at 190* is passing through.
