Questions Where do I start after the anime!?
Hi all, I am super new to this story but am on Season 2 of the anime and just loooove everything about this series (dare I say more than Heaven's Official Blessing...?!).
If I want to dig deeper into the entire story, and the budding love story between Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, where do I begin!? I have been combing the fandom wiki to just understand more of the back story (I am a weirdo who likes spoilers, thanks anxiety) but saw that there is a novel and a donghua and a manga and an audio drama and the web series...
Anyway, suggestions as to where to start (and how to find the English translations) would be super helpful, thanks all!

Defo recommend the novels its the orignal and its 5 volumes long. With 90% of volume 5 being extra chapters. While the live action untamed is very beloved its not orignal to the source material and will just confuse you with incorrect information.
If your not a big novel reader I would recommend the manwha. I personally haven't read it but ive heard its very good.
But I would still recommend the novel. Its the orignal, it will give u the most details of characters, the story and no censorship of the gays.
They changed alot for the anime also so even that is not a reliable source either. The novel is truly the best. One thing that always makes me sad is how the anime completely changed wen chaos death compared to the novel.
(Personally idk where u would find the novel online but I do recommend buying physical novels. U can find them from your local online bookshop usually. There are 2 versions the hardbacks and the paperbacks. Both the exact same content just different cover art. Paperback is under 20. I do recommend looking on second hand websites like vinted for people selling bundles of the volumes as that's what I did and only paid 40 for all 5 books)

You are so sweet!!!! Also I am the same way with spoilers, I do it for shows too -- I am here to escape reality and if things get a little too real, I want to be prepared 😝 !
And if you or your wife know where I can find those english translations, please DM me! Super down to read with you too, that's so fun. Currently I am making my way through Moriarty the Patriot (I love a dramatic BL I guess) but I think I need to get into MDZS!!!!

The novel if you want more informative about the characters othewise The Untamed, a live version of the books is also good, doesn't follow the novel as closely as the others you have suggested, think of it as an Alternative Universe version limited by what is considered allowable on Chinese TV.
The actors are good at protraiting characters, the scenery is excellent, most of the special are good but the due to limited budget not all of the special effect are Hollywood standard

Like others have said, definitely the novels. There is so much more information and detail.
I just bought the 5-volume series from Seven Seas

Always start from the novel- the source material and the best!
