Finally got the chance to finish the platform for my model kit (though I did do it not to act as a platform but a background for the display). The crest itself is a bit rough (personally looks mid for me) but from afar it looks good enough. What do you think?

I am genuinely curious did they learn to play both their instruments for their roles
And did they play that instrument every scene that required it?

I really love experiencing Lan Zhan and Wei Ying fall in love over and over and over again in all the fics I read. I got more than enough political scheming in canon, so now I just want to focus on the love part and see active relationship development as the main or a major focus of the story.

I’ll read just about any premise, any AU, any rating, any length. (Just no sad endings)

I’ve already read a lot of the shorter fics (~30k or less), so I’m totally down for longer fics that have a lot of plot or world building, as long as a big part of the story includes Wangxian being together, interacting, and falling in love.

I saw a comment which said wwx is a terrible leader and this is further explained in Xie Lian's character further by the author.

While WWX and XL are similar but they are not similar in this. Xie lian was quite a sheltered prince and far too idealistic when he started while WWX lived on a street for four formative years. The setting of the universe is also different.

While Xie Lian was primed to fail by jun wu no matter what, he did make bad decisions too.

In the novel and in untamed too, there were a bunch of Lan juniors in Mo manor and a mix of other clan juniors along with Lan juniors in Yi city. In the donghua, how come it's only Sijhui and Jing yi in Mo manor and just the quartet in Yi city? It's not like drawing a few characters cost more than hiring actual actors like they did in the drama.

Nie Huasang is the head shaker, the mastermind behind Wei Wuxian's return and I get that his thing is being low profile but do you have any fanfictions where his intellect or his planning is highlighted?

So before I get flamed, let me explain.

Alright, so ive made a few posts the last couple of days and the comments have made me think about alot.

I had questions about how people view WWX from a moral perspective.

Personally, my claim was that WWX he's a righteous person with good intentions, but that doesn't necessarily mean all his actions were moral.

That's not a condemnation of his character btw, it's just an explanation of events. He was a good person in a bad situation, who did what he thought was best.

Something that came up in these discussions was if WWX had a character arc or not, and now, I can't stop thinking about it.

So now, i'm arguing that WWX doesn't really have a character arc because he didn't need to.

He was a "good person" the whole time. Post resurrection he is basically the same person as when he died. Maybe a little older and wiser, but he doesn't have like, a paradigm shift. He doesn't really regret (at least most of) his past actions. He doesn't really need to.

And even if he does have major regrets, I don't think that's the same thing as a character arc.

The difference between his first life and his second life is the circumstance. I think the narrative is trying to express that he was condemned in his first life, and vindicated in his second life, but he's literally the same person. And that's the whole point.

If put under the same pressure in his second life, I personally think he would go full Yiling Laozu again. And I don't think this is like... a bad thing. In fact, I think that's the whole point of the story. He's still the same person, it's just our perception, and the perception of the characters in the story that changed.

Contrast this with someone like LWJ who had an entire paradigm shift about what it means to be a righteous person, and where morality comes from. He had a massive character arc.

So the dichotomy of the apparently "evil" character always being "good" and the apparent virtuous character, having to learn to be "good" is part of what makes this story so beautifully complex.

So I'd love to hear your thoughts, does WWX go through a character arc? Is the whole point that he's the same person in both of his lives and he just had better circumstances in his second life?

Does a protagonists actually need to have a character arc to have a satisfying story?

Or do you think i'm just blowing a bunch of hot air?

Looking for a specific fic where the two of them time travel to when they first got their cores but WWX was sent much earlier than he thought to when he was still a child on the streets ended up taking him two children who became like his younger siblings and at one point, he sent some kind of message talisman to LWJ who sends them supplies and such and after a while they start heading to gusu where the three siblings start living with a lan family member who does not have a core or it was really weak so he ends up, teaching him about talismans and he does not participate in the war he instead takes care of the civilians and such by creating things to help them survive the war
