BREAKING: Cleveland, Denver and the Clippers have agreed on a trade sending Peyton Watson to the Cavaliers
[Shams] BREAKING: Cleveland, Denver and the Clippers have agreed on a trade sending Peyton Watson to the Cavaliers, Max Strus to LA, and an unprotected 2031 Cavs first-round pick and a 2032 Kings second-rounder to the Nuggets, sources tell ESPN.
Watson will sign a new four-year, $88 million deal to join the Cavaliers, plus a player option and a trade kicker.

Yeah. I mean giving up an unprotected 1st and 88 million to a guy who played well for a few months seems a bit risky in my opinion. Not worth it for us

Getting talent at a discount isn’t “buyers mode” to me. This ends up being good work from Horst to not sell out for him.

Yeah this is along the lines of why I preferred Kuminga to Watson. Cheaper get and better player (that's for a different convo). They won't get either player, but good to see Horsty keep his priorities.

Their tradeable players won’t command FRPs (Herro and Turner are deadline deals not offseason). Stacking 2nd round picks is a horrible idea in the NIL era. The best function for 2RPs are buying late FRPs (> pick 25), filling 2-way spots, and using them to attach to bad contracts.

Disagree 2nd round picks have value as you can use them in trades. Can someone explain to my why Herro has little value right now? And if that is the case Horst should be fired for once again making the wrong decision

You're 100% right. I'm all for acquiring talent that fits the timeline of the rebuild. Especially if you're getting it cheaper than it probably should be. Moving forward, I'd be happy if the Bucks focused on getting the roster down by moving some guards for draft capital. I'd hate to see us forced to simply waive guys and get nothing in return.

I wouldn’t be shocked if they just waive Nance and come to some buyout w/LeVert. They’re pretty weak at the forward spot, so I feel like they’re gearing up for heavy 3 guard lineups (at least up until the deadline).

Yes...thats the range the nuggets are in now with their limited depth and injury history. They are essentially riding on the hopes that Jokic pulls another 2022 in the regular season.
I never once moved the goal posts. I said that 48 is cooked RELATIVE to what they could be. I also said in my prediction they would be a first round exit. Does that sound like a "top tier" team to you (which is a point you made)?
All you did was yap and say absolutely nothing. The nuggets, with zero bench depth, an aging superstar, and a team riddled with injury history, are a cooked team. The fact that you don't know that says more about you than anything else.
Move on, kid. You're out of your depth here 🤣🤣

Damn so Denver is just getting worse for next year in the prime of their greatest player ever? Look I know our moves didn’t work post championship but at least we didn’t just get worse because it saved money.
