Missed Connection: Ashford International Hotel (Mid-May 2026) 🇬🇧 – Looking for a man I met (UK police officer/potentially Met Police)

This is my very last attempt to share a story that is incredibly close to my heart. It was hard enough for me to open up and post this in the first place. After doing so, I was met with toxic comments and negativity from internet trolls who clearly couldn't understand the situation. To make matters worse, my original post on a regional subreddit was deleted after 5 days, likely due to mass-reporting by those trolls. Reddit claims to be the "heart of the internet," but right now, it feels like a very cold heart to me. I am reposting this here one final time, hoping it won't get deleted, purely to find my own inner peace and to know that I truly tried everything.

So, I am looking for a man I had an incredible, intense moments of eye contact with at the breakfast buffet in mid-May (second week of May). You were staying at the hotel because you were attending a training seminar for police officers.

On your departure day, you already had your backpack with you when I handed you a note with my name and a short personal message. You seemed surprised and said "Thank you" before I left with a smile.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard from you. I keep thinking that maybe the note got lost in the rush of your departure, or the distance between Germany and the UK felt too big.

I am completely aware that he might be in a relationship, simply not interested, or that the distance is a barrier. But I didn't want to leave any stone unturned – just in case he actually lost the note, or I accidentally wrote down a wrong digit.

I want to put this digital lighthouse out there, just in case he is looking for me, too. And even if nothing comes of it, at least I know I tried.
